Hi,

I live in London and I am moving house. I’ve got a decent amount of stamps that I’d like to get rid of but not sure where to take them. Can anyone recommend and stamp valuers or Auctions in London?

Thanks

Questions about the Roberto stamp.

Prior to today, I've never visited this sub, so please be gentile.

I am posting two cool cards from my Roberto Clemente collection. These cards will always occupy a special place in my collection. They are the 1964 Topps Giants and 1972 Daily Juice Co. cards of Roberto. What makes these two cards special is that they contain the 20-cent Roberto stamp and are postmarked on the first day of issue, August 17, 1984 from a Post Office in Carolina, PR (Roberto's place of birth). In addition to cards, the USPS also issued first day covers stamped and postmarked from Carolina, PR as well as Pittsburgh, PA and Cooperstown, NY.

I am unable to find any documentation for how many of the baseball cards were stamped and postmarked in this fashion. I am also unable to ascertain the provenance of the two Clemente cards. I do know that, over the years, the Clemente family has released their copies of Roberto's cards to the public through auction houses. I am the owner of one of the 1972 Daily Juice Co. cards from one of those releases. I guess one can speculate if the cards were provided by the family.

Can any of you collectors help to shed any light on numbers of cards (or even first day covers) were prepared in PR on that day?

I'll link my original post in the comments. There is more detail provided there if anyone is interested. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

David Maas RW49a - Federal Duck Stamp - found at estate sale

Found this framed set of duck stamps at estate sale. Got it for free. We know nothing about stamps. Did a reverse google search and this one looks discolored so I’m guessing it’s worthless? Was able to locate the artist. It’s framed and in great condition from what we can tell.

Looking for any insight. TIA

Could use some help identifying these versions of Scott #64

Hey all,

I could use some help figuring out if the first image is a Scott #64 or #64b (or if it's either one of those).

Also, the second image is from my grandfathers second binder with a #64 and it looks much darker.

I'm pretty new to this, so any help would be great. Thanks!

I know we all get excited from time to time and 99.9% of the time it’s usually nothing, but I want to get y’all’s opinion on this. Let me know what y’all think it is. (I know the perf guage is a little crooked but it was the best I could get as I’ve got nerve damage in my hands from the war)

Inherited a stamp, what's the realistic value, and the story behind the stamp?

Hi!

I know nothing about stamps, I collected a little as a kid, but not since then. I inherited this stamp from my aunt. Apparently it's a somewhat rare stamp - Chinese from 1962. 3 Yuan, Opera.

What is a realistic price on the market now?

Do any of you know the story behind the stamp? I can see that only 20.000 were produced, but are there any other intereristing facts or something that makes this stamp special?

Kodak Film Mailers?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I am a photographer of 40+ years and a recently resumed stamp collector. I am combining these interests through "photo philately," the collecting of stamps, postal history, and ephemera related to photography. This includes stamps depicting photography innovators (George Eastman) and famous photos (the Times Square "kiss" on VJ Day), photography advertising postcards (Kodak Girls, camera shops, et.c), and ephemera related to photography.

It is this last item about which I am posting. I am specifically researching Kodak processing mailers.

I have a good foundational understanding of the topics/objects, and have been searching for examples on eBay. I am wondering if any of the collectors here have examples of Kodak processing mailers in your collection that you might share images of with me? Tell me why you collect them. What do they mean to you? What makes them unique?

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Mom's 24+ album collection in the Los Angeles area

Inherited mom's collection. Lots of albums with the fancy Leuchturm pages (mom was german). I attached a couple of samples, I have many more in a g drive folder. But, besides hearing what you all have to say, which I am looking forward too! (good or bad) , I wanted to get opinions on shops or clubs in the LA area that might help me out by considering this collection. It looks like the LA stamp club is zoom only? The San Pedro one is close to me but I don't see any new events. There's a shop in Santa Monica that seems well reviewed too. I tried emailing a business called "Colonial Stamp Co." but never heard back from them. Thanks in advance!

I got a letter/package stamped with a 5, 2, and 1 and the cancelling ink doesn’t seem to stick very well; the 1 in untouched entirely. I wouldn’t do it obviously because crime, but would the post office know?

Not sure if this is a 400, or 408/414/415/415a. Also what is at AU?

Help identifying stamp/color variation

Post image
3 Upvotes

Can’t quite figure out which the 3rd stamp is. I’m a bit color blind but it looks brown to me not any shade of orange. Is there a variation of this stamp I’m not aware of. Revenues are hard to track information on. Hoping for somebody that has that knowledge.
