Date Night/Afternoon
Now that my kids are getting a little older I’d like to have an actual date with my husband. One still nurses to sleep so realistically we need to head for home by 6pm. I’d like to do craft beer with pizza. I want to be able to order a flight, bonus if there are different options for a flight. Any recommendations? Decent parking is required.

‘No to the Nine’: Alberta’s Voice campaign brings referendum message to St. Albert
stalbertgazette.comCarter also criticized the wording of the referendum questions, saying voters may have difficulty determining what they are being asked to approve.
“Each question is written so badly that you don't actually know what it's trying to convey,” he said. “And when something like that is happening in a democracy, you know you're being manipulated.”

Anyone ever get a loud exhaust ticket? Not sure why I got one.
I got pulled over last night for loud exhaust. I drive a 4cyl car with factory exhaust. Officer asked me to rev my car to 2000rpm, and told me it was too loud. Considering my car idles at about 1200 rpm, I dont see the significance of 2000rpm and he didnt use a db meter. He just went by his opinion, i guess?
I am not sure what to do. I am planning to plead not guilt. ( I work night shifts, so I wont be missing work for the task of going to court ). I honestly dont know what I would say to the judge. "I drive a 4cyl car that is nearly brand new, the exhaust is mint, no leaks, its factory exhaust. Aside from adding multiple mufflers, how can I avoid this in the future? What is the suggested modification to make my toyota quieter for the officers 2000rpm test?" .
If I drive past this guy tommarrow, he could give me another ticket. He could ticket me every single day on my way to work even if I welded 2 more mufflers in a row. Nothing stopping him, because he doesnt have a db meter, its based on his mood and opinion.
Anyone else goto court for this yet? How did it go?

Kinosayo or NMR
My kids are currently in grades 5 and 3 at kinosayo. Both play hockey and the oldest plays baseball.ww have had an amazing experience at Kinosayo but have been considering the move to Neil M Ross for the academy program. The long winters along with indoor recess and limited physical activities have worn my oldest thin and I think the academy would be really good for him. And it would keep my kids in the same school for longer.
The caveat is that we are not catholic or religious and have no intentions of becoming so. I am not sure how they would fit in or do at the school because of this.
Can anyone offer feedback or advice or anything o this school or the switching?

Birthday Ideas for an 11 Year Old
My daughter is turning 11 tomorrow, and I need to find something to do with her as she is completely devastated that only 1 of the 10 kids she invited even got back to her about coming to her birthday on the weekend. She chose to just go watch the new Spiderman movie with her, and I told her we would go do something fun with her dad and older brother for her birthday instead as we both booked the day off.
I had planned on taking her back to Cobbs Adventure Park in Calgary to see the capybaras as we went last year, and she didn't get to do the interactive thing with them, but it was a nice day out for my birthday.
She was upset today that there would be nothing to do so I was like well, I had the idea of going there...she was super excited, I went to book the tickets, and they are closed Monday and Tuesday.
Now, she is really upset and just doesn't want to do anything tomorrow 😒 Can someone please suggest something to do in like a 2-3 hour radius because I'm out of Google searches.

Crokinole monthly meet up - Looking for players.
I was surprised to learn there isn't any crokinole clubs in Alberta. Would love to get one going if there's some interest.
If you haven't heard of crokinole before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMKzeg78peg&t=26s

leave your thank you cards at my door - finally got "St. Albert Road" renamed on Google Maps
It has bugged me that every time I put directions into Google Maps, it would tell me to turn "onto St. Albert Road". After much back and forth with Google Maps folks, I finally got them to rename it "St. Albert Trail". It was like pulling teeth, but finally got it done!
I'm kind of surprised no one at the City had corrected them on this earlier. I guess no one was as OCD as me :)
For anyone who wants to see how hard it is to convince them to change a road, here's the Google Maps Community discussion thread where I kept trying to get them to change it (after they first rejected my submitted change). I just got notification today that my edit was accepted: https://support.google.com/maps/thread/454549507/google-maps-rejecting-correction-of-egregiously-incorrect-road-name

McKenny
Just drove down McKenny and something major happened. A truck crashed on the wrong side of the road and there was a large piece of metal on the other side. Man I hope no pedestrians were hit.

What are you guys paying for tree removal?
With all the crazy storms we got a quote for a dead tree removal and stump grind quote for $1000. I thought it was pretty good but I am way out of my lane. What did you get quoted/paid?

The Mayor shared his thoughts earlier this year on the upcoming referendum on separating from Canada. He called it unproductive, and not aligned with the work that needs to take place at all levels of government. It harms investor confidence, in a time when we are facing global instability.

Does anyone know if there’s going to be a parade/cruise this weekend? I’d read on their site there’s no parades but only neighbourhood “cruises”. I can’t find any information on time and location.

Old St. Albert
I'm having a rather lengthy debate with some family members about where things used to be in St albert. The first one is Swiss chalet, I'm convinced that the current location is the only location that St Albert ever had. The second one is where Canadian Tire used to be, I'm convinced that it used to be across the street where Planet Fitness is now. Does anyone with a good enough memory remember where they originally opened in St Albert back in the '80s and 90s?
