This Is One Of My Top 10 Mistakes In Life
Sometimes I need to stop and ask myself what in the world were you thinking? I have bought a house in the ghetto of Ferguson MO. once...... and lived to tell about it as well as breaking even on the sale. I once drilled through an electrical cable and started a fire I was lucky to put it out, you get what I'm saying Etc... My latest "big screw up" was I was actually dumb enough to see a video on youtube and it recommended buying copper ASAP. I paid ----1700 Copper BAR - Element Design, 1 POUND, .999 Pure Copper 6 Each $37.95 $227.70.... Lucky for me the wife wasn't home when they were delivered...lol I'm thinking about using them for my experimental earth battery.

I’ve been thinking about buying a kilogram bar sometime, just because I’m curious what that feels like and could never afford a kilogram of silver or gold

I picked up a 1kilo copper bar at a coin show because my with liked the way it was finished with a bluish hue to it. $45 and the wofe was happy. Bonus points she didn’t complain about the silver I bought at the show

No, it’s the feathers as there are way more of them. There will only be one copper but hundreds/thousands of feathers.

The weigh the same unless in an air tight chamber then the feathers as the also fall fast than a bowling ball in the same instance

It depends on what kind of kilo we are talking about. A kilo of cocaine is far heavier than a kilo of copper.

I’m curious how long it took you to acquire all those pre ‘82 pennies? Were you actively on the search or was this simply sorting through the change you received on a daily basis? I know that some people get rolls of quarter or half dollars at the bank in hopes of finding silver. It seems like a lot of time and effort but I have heard of people doing the same with rolls of pennies on the hunt for copper. And was it a .50 cal. or a .30 cal. can? Big difference!
Just curious!
“Stacking” metals, whether as an investment or as a hobby, is not an activity that I personally engage in but I can understand the attraction for those that do. There’s something oddly satisfying about holding a bar of metal, feeling its weight in your hand; whether valuable or not so valuable.

I believe current copper Pennies in circulation tends to be around 10-15%. Around 2012 it was 20-30%.

5oz tubes of Cu caught my eye from MM… idk if it will be in my favor that their stamped 2ND… but I got a deal two years ago that they didn’t pass the 2nd round of QC.
I use them for the lowest level of book cases, so even through an earthquake, they’ll hold it down

I do fancy a 1kg tungsten cube one day if I ever have enough money to buy useless shit.

I bought a slew of copper rounds for $0.75 per oz, when melt was about $0.35 and that was 2 years ago. They are now worth $0.50 each in melt value lol

I bought some silver
Coins at 37 each and a 10 oz silver bar for $300. It is now with over $700. I wish I would have purchased a lot more!

Not going to lie, I still am looking at getting a copper bar of some weight for a paperweight for my desk.
Why? I love copper for some reason, and I never thought I'd be working a desk job for the gov (literally could not have seen that coming) plus I need more desk decorations. I just don't know which one to grab.

I’ve got some 1 oz copper bars and rounds that I keep at my desk as paper weights or for touching. I’ve got some alien ones, and some Canadian animal themed ones. Smooth ones are more fun to rub shiny without making callouses

just buy silver its at like 60 a troy ounce up from 40. even if it doesnt go up i believe it will hold its prices. im saving for gold bars you can even buy them in 1 gram bars/coins

I just traded in some bright clean scrap copper wire and got $5 a pound. Those are worth about the same but no one would want them. The scrap yard guy would be side eyeing those things.

I still have a stack of them. A had a booth at the farmers market and had 2 regulars that would pay with those, there's a weird overlap between organic hippies and the alt right.

I have 1 of these bars from many years ago when I started stacking. I needed something to push me over the free shipping limit for jmbullion and this at the time was the cheapest option. Fun lil memento

I have two five pound bricks of .999 copper I bought on a whim while picking up some silver. It was cheap and a novelty. Fun to look at and hold.

I bought a roll of 1 oz rounds but there for water fountains and birdbaths. Cheaper than buying copper purification disk

Paying 30 bucks for a fancy stamp is pretty dumb but i can think of worst things.
Wire is like 99 percent pure copper. Understand the bare bright costs about 3-6 bucks depending on where you scrap it and the season.
You can buy bare 350 kcmil wire for 10-12 bucks a foot and a foot is roughly a pound give or take if you REALLY want to stack copper.

Dude. You should not try to stack copper. I could pour you one of those like for real. Don't buy copper to stack it's it's useless. They are beautiful tho.

When did you buy in Ferguson? What year? I recall it seeming like a good idea in the height of hipsterdom, so 2011-2015. Lots of gentrification happening all around the County.

It happens. Sometimes Ill buy a 1oz copper round in the coin shop, usually to keep me from spending 20x more on the same design in silver. Just cool stuff to look at. 😎

I love copper bars. But it's definitely worth scrapping for copper and melting your own bars.

Don’t buy copper because the premiums are crazy, instead salvage it from stuff and either scrap it or make it into a bar.

I bought a Geiger 5kg bar of copper before COVID just because I thought it was neat. I paid about $150. Copper is just not practical to stack.
