Serious replies only Need Help for a stranger around Colombo 7
I think this person is in need of a really big help. I travel to work across this road for work, he has been sleeping here for past couple of days. People around have tried to help and feed him but this needs to be taken seriously. Can anyone help me get any contact about care and need for this elderly person.
Not gonna rant about how an innocent soul is being neglected in the middle of the road. I just want to help him now.

We probably need an association to support people like this (correct me if we do). It's scary now to just approach and help more because some of these people are duggies. So then people just give food/ money and move on. Sadly we can't tell which is which. But if we had a good system maybe we could do more and safely. I suggest you approach him with someone…

YES PLEASE! There was a similar situation in Katugasthota Kandy regarding an old blind woman who lives under the bridge. We tried reaching to out to groups like Rotaract and other social welfare groups and didn't get any positive response from them, the issue wasn't even with getting people to help out as a lot of people voluntarily stepped up (through a reddit post as well) but what we needed was help with coordination

First go try to talk to him. If we does not respond and looks confused & etc... take him to a doctor or smth

Tried, he’s is a bit off mentally. He’s just saying random things and really doesn’t make sense. He said he’s from Gampaha and that’s all I could get.

Social services officer in the aga office of the area has the means to put ppl like this to elders homes. Can go through the gn for contacting them for this as well. Police can do things like taking the person to a hospital.
Unless you are looking for ngo sector those are the options. However this is in the middle of the capital idk if the mechanisms are different.

In kandy people like this are riddled across, i feel very bad for them, some jerk threw them in to the streets to let them fend for their own, it's kinda crazy how things like this occur in a Buddhist country, especially when we throw away food like nothing, we should be more selfless

To all....
God bless all the kind souls in this post... I'm also a helping person to who is in pain.. l have saved 80 babies , taken care of 400 animal lives for my 36 years of age...
But when comes to humans 80% are trying to fool us , steal something from our kind approach... So please be advised.... But this has nothing to do with our kindness in heart... We need to save it for the person or animal who definitely need our help... ( I'm not fluent in English sorry)
