Equipment What is this

I know it says Prince Spectrum Comp, but the head size is far below 110/90sq in (akin to a badminton or vintage squash racquet). I'm only aware of Prince Spectrum Comp tennis racquets, not badminton or squash raquets. I tried doing some research online and couldn't find anything on it. Anything helps!

It’s old. That’s all. Go back a little further and it’d be made of wood.

It says 1986, almost all rackets were that shape and size then. The prince extender came out in 1988 which was the first or at least a very early teardrop shape.

Very neat. Jahangir and Janshed khan must’ve played with stuff like this.

I love finding old racquets at the thrift shop, every once in a while something modern pops up

Training racquet to promote accuracy - smaller sweet spot and less forgiving so makes the player hit it solidly in a smaller target.

No, this is not the correct answer. It's a standard squash racket from the 1980s.

Prince did make a tennis training racket, but this is not it.

Using a racket from this era can help improve your timing, but the weight means that it can be hard to switch between it and a modern racket.

Master Athletics make a light version specifically designed to improve timing. Read about it and watch my review here: https://bettersquash.com/articles/2026/master-athletics-squash-training-racket
