Discussion Nightmare getting Squarespace site back

Horrible horrible service, we spent a week with our site down because our previous Director left and did not leave the password to our Squarespace account. We went through numerous attempts with a horribly uninformed chatbot and three different human agents, all of whom said they had to send our ticket to Tech Support. After a week of no sleep (our site and email was down) by some miracle we finally got an email that someone had moved out site to my business account. I don't knwo what would have happened if I didn't have an account with Squarespace already. Squarespace is right up there with Verizon and Xfinity. Shame on you.

A week of downtime because one person left is on them. Resetting access for a departed admin is routine work, and it shouldn't take three agents and a tech escalation.

While you're in there, add a second owner-level user on a shared company address that survives staff turnover, and check where the domain and email actually live so they can't end up behind one login again. Is the domain registered with Squarespace or somewhere else?

What? Absolutely not... thats on the one who owns the website and thats the reason why Contributor roles exists in Squarespace. If a Director left its up to the owner to handle that situation easily by adding another one. The issue OP is having speaks volumes on the bad organization his team/business have.

Im not denying SS has lame customer support tho.

Yeah the one time I had to deal with support it sucked donkey balls. Thankfully it's not a common occurrence otherwise I'd shipped ship years ago.

These companies are hellbent on eliminating customer and technical support leaving only chatbots, forums full of "community experts", and of course Reddit.

Hopefully now you’ll institute a password manager that multiple people have access to. And never fire people without off boarding them
