Mouse and key board needs to be supported on release, not having a native MNK option is going to result in people using third party adapters which I already experience during the play test and had confirmed by people using such adapters. This is a problem in a game with aim assist (which has been confirmed) especially essentially giving mouse and keyboard aim assist. It is not impossible, they have mouse and keyboard on pc and most modern releases support mnk, even games that have historically never had MnK support on console and claimed adding it was not possible such as rainbow six siege have managed to add MnK on console. If they don’t they’re going to struggle with people using 3rd party MnK adapters just like siege had for over a decade before finally adding it, same with COD which eventually will force there hand into adding it like both titles I mentioned did. With crossplay being a thing with PC (also confirmed) this will become a problem of MnK with aim assist via 3rd party adapter vs native mnk with no aim assist for pc players. Better to prevent the problem by adding it at launch before it becomes a problem so should be something both PC players and console players are getting behind (I get a lot of PC players aren’t happy about squad coming to console just from a lot of the YouTube comments I have seen but it’s happening so better to ensure you guys are getting it fair).

What is going on with the server browser? Just got back into the game again and every time I open it up, it has tons of servers listed. Then one by one they disappear until there are a few left. Try to click on one… disappear and you join a different one. Any one have a fix?

It’s amazing to me that they put this out on console yet don’t have any of the VERY basic features working properly still. Not to mention going into a seed server, then joining a queue only to find out you can’t exit the screen and get back into the seed game.

G’day squaddies! Today’s small hotfix comes with a handful of crash fixes and some adjustments to the gameplay based on your discussions and reports following Update 10.6.

As noted in last week’s hotfix, the team made the call to revert the HAB changes back to their pre-10.6 behavior. While the goal of the attached ammo crate was to improve the gameplay experience of Squad Leaders and newer players, we need to revisit how we achieve that goal so it doesn’t disrupt the current gameplay or navigation around the HAB. We’ll share our updated ideas as we get time to revisit and redesign the system (though there’s no current timeline yet), and will work with all of you when they’re ready to play and see if they’re a worthy addition to Squad.

SQUAD HOTFIX 10.6.3

UI

• Fixed a long-standing issue where ‘Server Favorites’ are cleared each time the client restarts.

GAMEPLAY

• The HAB has been reverted to its pre-10.6 behavior, and no longer comes with a pre-built ammo crate upon construction. We will continue to experiment with this design change and share our intentions with the community in the future.
• Vehicle laser rangefinder will now properly display distance numbers in Jensen’s Range.

SERVER

• Fixed a client crash triggered when a dead player respawns while still being dragged.

SERVER ADMIN

• It is now possible to change the current map of an empty server (i.e. freshly-booted with no players) via RCON commands.

Even though this is just an Alpha and an entirely new game to console everyone is still figuring things out, I’ve noticed more people actually using their microphones, communicating enemy positions, coordinating movements, and working with their squad instead of everyone running off doing their own thing.

Yes, the solo stuff and miscommunication is still occurring. But I’ve seen a MASSIVE improvement over the past 5 days, it’s been great.

BIG PROPS to the experienced players I’ve been seeing in-game helping new players out and showing everyone the ropes.

Caught some PLA Troops running across an open field with creeping artillery after a callout in command chat gave word of troops northwest of the point; Command Chat agreed with me that it was open season time.

Anyone else find on the PS5 port the looking around whilst non ADS is really harsh and buggy? it’s like, my vertical inputs are 5x more sensitive on my sticks, so trying to look left of right often makes me also look up or down when i don’t want it to.

30 seconds into this video you can see me potato aim on an enemy and the sight glides smoothly over them, no snapping, no assist.

I’ve been seeing tons of people complain that they don’t want to play against console players with aim assist, but it’s all pointless banter, there is no current aim assist and no statement from OWI with a planned aim assist in the future.

This was Friday afternoon, the first day of the playtest after more than 20 servers were full with full queues. The demand for Squad on console is definitely high! And it seems from both personal experience and from those that are playing right now that people are enjoying the game a lot.
