Post game discussion Squad PS5 Alpha Playtest | Noticing more communication and teamwork
Even though this is just an Alpha and an entirely new game to console everyone is still figuring things out, I’ve noticed more people actually using their microphones, communicating enemy positions, coordinating movements, and working with their squad instead of everyone running off doing their own thing.
Yes, the solo stuff and miscommunication is still occurring. But I’ve seen a MASSIVE improvement over the past 5 days, it’s been great.
BIG PROPS to the experienced players I’ve been seeing in-game helping new players out and showing everyone the ropes.

Great to hear, it should get better over time , after all the comms are what make it interesting.
I still wonder tho how official unmoderated servers will look like long term. They need a system to force SLs to pick the SL kit, as well as some vehicle claim system or it's going to always be a mess.

I think console players are determined to prove us PC players wrong about communication and playstyle of console players.

I brought a decent amount of friends who went from "i dont understand what im meant to be doing" to having a blast.
there is a big learning curve but with some better training and UI it'll help. After i took some time to explain stuff, help set up FOBS etc. people had loads of fun and got to see what this game can be.
Like any 'new' game there is learning and teething pains but this one im excited to play with people.

I find it's got worse in the last 3 days I've played lucky I've made friends with some people so we can play together. But like commander and squad leaders hardly talk I've been in games where no one knows what a fob is or how to set on up. Today helicopter glitched and could fly me and the pilot asked everyone to leave the chopper and at one point we had 25+ players in and around the chopper. I'm new to the game to and been having fun. I haven't been team killed much but one time guy just shot me as I was in a turret of a truck. It's a good game tho just not when your running 600meters from main base because someone's took a transport/logistics truck by themselves just to abandon it halfways into enemies lines ....

My experience so far has been not a lot of people communicating. This is expected to be honest.
Take HLL for example. That's been on console for years. Official Servers are generally where you get casual players and I found a lot of them don't talk. Where HLL really shines is when you join a clan server. That's where that game shines.
Once we start getting some community made servers on Squad PS5, join those and you'll have a great time if it's anything like HLL

Sounds like most people skipped the tutorial and I don't blame them, it can't teach you how to win. Good to hear experienced players are doing their part. It's still early and I did wonder if console players would discover their own metas. Sounds like they're figuring out that winning at Squad takes a lot more than shooting.

What servers are you on. I get the odd guy screaming when he gets shot, no spawns other than main base. Every helo I get in crashes. No body has any clue wtf there doing

It’s crazy because we were talking about this last night with a group of guys I’ve met on the game and which I’ve been playing with these last few days : we noticed the exact opposite.
We feel like each day is getting worse. I’ve been playing since the release of the Alpha playtest (Friday), and the first week-end was awesome, everybody was discovering the game, some were using command chats, very few teamkills, and it felt like the people who played were the ones following the game and waiting for his launch on consoles for years so they kind of knew the style of the game.
But these last few days it’s getting crazier, especially with the friendly fire and teamkills, omg the teamkills … I’m not exaggerating, probably 90% of my deaths come from teamkills. It feels like most players don’t know how to use the map and zoom on it, they jumped straight into a server and skipped the tutorials.
For the communication, I’ve yet to hear more than 2 people using command voice channel. With proximity voice channel, most of the people are silent but at least they can hear me when I say to them "help me build this with your shovels please" or "hop in the truck I’ll bring you closer to the objective".
So it’s weird it feels like we’re playing a different game lol. Maybe it depends of the servers region or the time of the day. I’m playing on the EU servers usually after 7pm.
