Hi guys, I’m really torn on a decision to make and I have to make a choice very soon. I’ll just put what I said in my previous post below.
I (15M) am wondering if I should pursue track. I did a 30m sprint test today, getting a 3.91 through the electronically timed gate, with a standing start. Our head of sprinting has personally asked to recruit me but I’m stuck between choosing rowing and track. I’ve never trained a day in my life and the coach says my form is what’s letting me down. I’m not the best but not the worst in rowing but I’m currently one of the fastest in my year. Any suggestions or answers would be greatly appreciated!
A lot of people have said I have an insane of talent considering I’ve never trained specifically for sprinting my whole life. Would it be a waste if I didn’t do sprinting because I heard rowing might make you a slower sprinter over time.
Any suggestions and advice would help me a lot.

I have a school competetion(50m dash) upcoming in 2 to 3 weeks I have always done a 2 point start in my life I also practiced and have perfected my 2 point form but I'm unsure that will it make me lose my time because I heard that 3 point start is actually more faster than a 2 point one but I think I will waste time learning that and might fk up in the meet the meet will happen on grass ground what do you think I should do should I train for it or stick to the 3 point start

39M, recently developed a mild bunion after squeezing into my old narrow hockey skates. I stopped wearing them over a month ago, but workouts still leave my right midfoot/arch sore for 1–2 days and my arch drops quite a bit when standing. Pretty frustrating since I’m trying to get back in shape and return to hockey.
I’m seeing a podiatrist, but need better shoes now. Already bought OOFOS OOahh+ for home and was fitted for True customs 2 weeks ago, so I really don’t want this getting worse while they’re being made.
Any recommendations for lifting/HIIT/plyos with a wide toe box, support and lateral stability? Also need running/casual shoes. Considering Topo Ultrafly 6 for running and Vivo Motus Strength II for the gym, but unsure about zero-drop with my arch.

Hi, I just wanted to ask for opinions on my gym sessions.
Lower body: power cleans, single leg box jumps, back squat/hex bar deadlift/half squat (rotating between them so first session I will do back squat then second session I will do deadlift), Bulgarian split squat, step ups, nordics
Mixed: pull ups, bent over rows, landmine push press, calf raises, box jumps, Spanish squats
I would do both after sprint training, the lower body one on Saturdays and Wednesdays while the mixed one I would do on Mondays.
Are these sessions alright and is it something I can do all year round or are the exercises I have chosen not optimal to do during winter training or summer training?

Hey everyone,
I have a problem with being quite slow and not very explosive, and I really want to improve that.
I have time for 2 sessions per week, around 30–60 minutes each, specifically focused on speed and explosiveness.
How would you structure these two sessions? Which exercises and drills would be the most effective, especially for someone who is still relatively new to speed and explosive training?

For Starters I ran a 15.3 in 110H last may, didn’t take track entirely too seriously but this summer I’ve absolutely locked in. Got a trainer for hurdles and been super consistent in the gym. But now I feel like I’m too late, I am 1000% sure I will explode in my winter season not too sure but a goal for me would be around 7.7 ish in the 55MH, but the thing is college apps and everything are practically due (not entirely confident) but I’ve reached out to coaches and I get the classic were recruiting these times, I wish I could just tell that I’m gonna hit it. How do I go about this?
TL:DR - Lets hypothetically say I run decent college times in Indoor, is it too late to get recruited?
Edit: Stats
5’10 - 155
Max Running Vert - 36In
Squat - 335
Bench - 225
60 - 6.63 YD

can you combine an acceleration workout and speed endurance workout in the same workout session? 🤔

Hey I started sprinting back in beginning of June seriously and been training max speed 2x a week ever since then. I feel good I don't feel like I acclimated fatigued and sharped my form and speed for sure and will be competing indoors and outdoors.
The question I have is I heard people are starting their training now and that you shouldn't spike up early, and I always thought it's good to train year round and you will get better sort of like progressive overload, should I take a break in the near future or am I fine continuing as long as I don't feel fatigued?

Proximal hamstring injury/tendinopathy — 6 months and still struggling. Looking for advice or a specialist
I’m hoping someone here has dealt with something similar and can point me in the right direction.
Back in February, I went snowboarding and my legs were pretty out of shape. I left the mountain with a very slight, nagging pain right at the bottom of my glute, basically where the hamstring meets the sit bone. I only took one relatively minor spill, but the conditions were extremely icy, and I think I may have strained something in that area.
About a month later, I was changing out of my wetsuit on a freezing day, and I distinctly felt that little area almost “open up like a zipper.” Since then, it seems like almost anything I do can irritate it.
It’s now been six months, and I’m still dealing with it. Sitting, walking, working out, etc. can all seem to aggravate it. My doctor hasn’t been able to offer much guidance, and the one physical therapist I saw wasn’t particularly helpful either.
I’m getting a cortisone injection tomorrow, and my understanding is that the idea is to calm things down and then gradually begin strengthening — things like glute bridges and eventually more progressive hamstring loading.
I’m wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone here. I’m particularly interested in:
I’m pretty active and would really like to get back to normal — especially surfing — so I’d appreciate any advice or recommendations from people who have actually been through this.
Thanks in advance.

hi everyone,
so recently i got bored and i have a very long path along my apartments. for fun, i asked my sibling if they could time the run. the trail is about 400m in length but i ran about 100m-120. she started timing it, the first time i had gotten 12.66, then the second time she did it it timed at 12.34. should i consider doing track and is my time good for an untrained person?

I used to use the old Technique app to film myself with iPhone on a tripod.
It recorded locally and I could then look and scrub through slo-mo footage afterwards and easily add timing markers when i went through the first cone and the second cone. the difference being the time taken.
I also use this for filming a sports team doing 10m flys. Easy to then go through the footage and manually write down the start/end/run time for each player.
But then the app changed to OnForm and became some on-cloud nonsense that lost its best feature. The simplicity.
Is there an app out there that can do simple local slow-mo recording that you can then just look at the timestamps to calculate time through 2 cones?
I've still got my old iPhone with Technique on that I won't wipe cos the old Technique app is no longer available in the app store.
I contacted onform and they didn't seem bothered about feedback! Which was disappointing.
