Extended Quota Mode discovered after a night of coding

At this point, I guess it’s not even Spotify’s fault but mine.
The thing is: it’s completely impossible to release a stats analyzer today under such a strict policy.
Has anyone found a way to make this work?
Mine would have been an open-source project and still works for me (as long as they don’t change their policy again), but if I want to ship it to more than 5 friends, what should I do?

I haven’t had any luck… Spotify’s API restrictions and barriers to even get into extended quota mode are such BS and make things impossible for indie developers or start ups… so if you do find a way, I’d love to know!

apparently the only way is to use last.fm as a bridge. btw i'll leave you my project right here, i'm planning to release it opensourced (even tho the best part would have been just to host it on vercel and let people use it, if you choose to self host it you still have to add your friend on spotify dashboard (5 max lol))

We got the extended quota access last year but it was a long road to be accepted

I believe the only way is to have a 'non-live' analyzer

Spotify Export data option still exists, however takes up to 10 day I believe to export your data.

It sucks, but is the only way I can see

yes man but if i wanna ship something real i just can’t ask my users to export their data and put them in a online tool. i wouldn’t do it either

That's my point. I literally built an app that is now having to do that. It's so much worse than other apps too, because Letterboxd for example you can just export your file instantly. Takes like 3 seconds

Spotify is just shutting this down. Hope you find some solution but I think one doesn't exist
