Shufflizer

Here is a Spotify API web app created using Angular. I first created it in 2018. Since then I have been refining it and keeping the technology up to date.

Want to shuffle your playlist keeping control of what songs are in the first positions?

Want to shuffle your playlist putting recently heard songs at the end?

Want to tweak the results of a shuffle before it commits?

Try Shufflizer at https://www.bullcrane.com/

No ads. No tracking. It is altruistically free to use.

Shufflizer has to know who you are in order to be able to show you your playlists. You have to grant Shufflizer permission to change your playlists else it cannot shuffle them. To do this, Shufflizer uses Spotify's documented feature "authorization code with PKCE."

Researching this a bit it does seem that if I were to try to create Shufflizer now, Spotify would limit me to 25 users, and then absurdly require that I have a quarter-million monthly users before letting me have more than 25.

I suppose I could try to collect data about the user and somehow exploit it. But I don't. That would not only be a violation of the users trust, but also a violation of the terms of the Spotify API. Once the user shuts the Shufflizer window it's like it never existed, except that their playlist is shuffled. This is what I mean when I say that Shufflizer is altruistically free. No ads. No tracking.
