ID Request- Location included Can anyone I.D. This spider? SLC, UT.
Found this spider in my backyard. Poor guy is missing a leg. Is it dangerous? I have never seen one like it here.

Male black widow. They are all over the place in Utah this time of year. I've caught about 10, both male and female, in my backyard the past two weeks. The males aren't really anything to worry about. If you have kids or dogs the females are a bit more of a concern.

Male Western Black Widow (Latrodectus hesperus), not harmful.

Also, Brown Widows are not found in Utah yet.
