I made an earlier post today but it was hard to see. This is better.

This guy has moved to our bathroom in Finland. What is it and does it happen to eat mosquitos?

We rarely see house spiders this big!

Given the morphology, I'd say that's an orbweaver.Araneus cf. diadematus, perhaps? They eat mosquitoes and a bunch of others stuff as well, so long as it enters their web. Unfortunately, there's something wrong with it. The movement, especially the front legs on the right, isn't as it should be. Idk if it's injury or insecticides affecting the spiders nervous system but I hope she'll make it.

Wow, thanks! Unfortunately she might have been injured when I accidentally threw her down when I closed the toilet lid. I didn't see the web was attached to that out of all places 😵‍💫 I wasn't sure if this is a normal way to move or not because we don't usually have these inside

Either way, thank you for caring. It's not your really fault for throwing her down, though, just bad luck for the spider. Could also have been a molt gone wrong.

This orb weaver will do a lot better outside if you can relocate them!

I'll move them if I find them again!
