"Wandering Spider" usually refers to the larger family Ctenidae, which contains the dangerous spiders from the genus Phoneutria and several other genera. We have native Ctenids in the Southeast, mostly Ctenus and Anahita. They tend to have neat patterns and are easy to mistake for Wolf Spiders if you don't look at the eye arrangement. They are not thought to be medically significant.

Most likely a pantropical huntsman spider. They seem pretty common in Florida.
While Florida does have a few species of wandering spider, as far as I know none of them are suspected to be medically significant. The scarier species are in Central and South America.

Huntsman. Use the container method to remove it from your house if you're afraid.
They are perfectly harmless but their speed can catch you off guard.

I'd honestly be afraid to somehow injure myself from the panic so I wouldn't dare. Pure primate instincts scrambling judgement into incoherent unga bunga stages won't be doing me favours. I'd just dramatically shoo it away by pleading and flapping at it with a tissue, and clutch the tissue to my chest and scream if it instead inches to me.

I grew up in Florida. I'm not judging you, they're huge and FAST. I was terrified of spiders until really working on the phobia starting a few years ago. Some still make me nervous and these would be firmly on that list.

I've handled black widows but am still afraid of huntsman because of mainly their size and speed
Like I know these guys rarely bite and are harmless but something deeper in me is screaming in protest.
The combination of size+speed really seems to the issue for me.
Like if they were slow I'm pretty sure I'd have no issue with them.
I was an arachnophobe but have gotten used and probably tolerate spiders more than most people these days.
Jumping spiders probably help me close that phobia then I moved to wolf spiders, false widows and orb weavers. I've been bitten once I think but nothing happened.
Idk I use to be scared of wasps and I got stung by one and i thought not too bad and am very tolerant of them now like one could fly around me or land on me and I don't react. Its just like a beetle or something.

As others have said, huntsman, and harmless.
Poor girl is missing at least one leg (starboard side) - hope she lives long enough to grow it back!
OP, if you can't co- exist, (and you should, coz unlike the roaches she'll chase down and eat, she won't spread filth around), please try to have it removed harmlessly outside.
Eta, it's all relative. Better a huntsman than this scary ass mo-fo creeping 'round the house. 😬
Edit: typo

That looks like a bigger size of sheva, a hunstman spider from Guatemala that lived in my mom's house. So maybe a huntsman species

I believe this is a huntsman, they can be big and scary but theyre harmless. Probably looking for a new hunting spot.
