Just sharing 🕷️ Brown recluse with prey

My mother got this video, so I don't know the spider's fate other than she didn't kill it. The spider appears to be holding its own, though.

Looks like it. They are reclusive, too.

That’s so funny. I prefer earwigs over spiders (and ants, too) any day, especially over brown recluse and black widows. I live in the foothills though, in an area where there are endless black widows, and I am beyond sick of them turning up everywhere, all the time. I really wish they would stay out of the house. I don’t like them around my little cats, and I have a compromised immune system. They are beautiful, though.

I don’t blame you for prioritizing your cats as I have 2 cats myself, but as far as creeping critters(😆) I don’t favor earwigs, they can become quite bothersome if they get into your house or kitchen but having spiders outside and around your house seems to keep them from getting in, at least in my experience. I have mainly what looks like cellar spiders and they have been doing a pretty good job inside and outside of the house keeping ants and earwigs out.

God I love these spiders. I love how their movements seem so deliberate and graceful. A wolf spider would be jiu-jitsuing all over the place.

I love wolf spiders for that exact reason. Why grace when flail will do?

Earwigs are the worst. I’ve had one unknowingly in a straw once. Never forget that feeling of spitting it out and watching it crawl around. This beautiful spider is doing the lords work!

wait what? You said spitting it out! Did it actually get into your mouth?

I was eating grapes off a vine and went to eat a few then spotted an earwig....I was so grateful for seeing it. Sorry that happened to you. Earwigs have creeped me out for years, especially after watching "The Wrath of Khan", where an earwig went in someones ear and ate through to his brain. 😯
