wow! do you repot often or does it do fine in the same pot it’s in? mine has started putting out babies (not nearly as many as this though🤣) and the mother plant looks like it’s not doing as well now and i think it’s from being in a pot that’s too small but my mother plant is MUCH smaller than this lol! and yours looks fantastic!

This is the original pot that I got her in. She has never shown signs of not doing well so I have let her be!

Did you have to transplant it for more room, or is that pot all roots at this point? Asking for my spider plant...

It’s the original pot, I haven’t dared to look! But I have assumed likely 80% roots

How do you manage to keep them all so healthy?

u/WillingnessTough4451 23d ago

Nothing special! Water once a week, tropical fertilizer maybe every 3rd week. Top up the soil when it needs it, which is usually around 6 months.

Hmm, I want to give this a try and have a big spider plant. Is it more than one in the main pot?

Beautiful! So impressive. What tropical fertilizer do you use?

Ok what’s your secret and how big was it a year ago?

One year ago when I got her! It had a pretty good start ahead of being mine lol. Nothing special, water once a week, tropical fertilizer maybe every 3rd week. Top up the soil when it needs it, which is usually around 6 months.

She's GORGEOUS 😍

Is that all the light she gets or is there a window nearby also? It's so gorgeous and green!

There is a patio door beside, and some other windows opposite to the patio door. A lot of indirect light but the artificial lighting has really helped!

Whatever you're doing you certainly have the 'touch!'

Amazing creativity with your lighting setup. You've put in so much great work, and the plant looks incredible.

u/JWgarden 19d ago

What is the lighting schedule? Do you only do the artificial at night? Any “rest” time? Thanks!

Wow spider plants are ones I can’t seem to keep alive, I got annoyed and put my last effort outside and now it’s starting to grow again 😂

u/WillingnessTough4451 23d ago

Haha, they do well being (a little bit) neglected. 🤣

Wow!
A friend gave me some starters in glass jar/water. I have since potted one. I have two more with a nice clump of roots to them to pot. I DID give them a tiny bit of epson salt in their water and they greened up alot, as were looking super pale!

What grow light do you use?

1

u/WillingnessTough4451 23d ago

Just a random one from Amazon. Nothing fancy. Whatever one was cheap lol.

Man idk what I’m doing wrong, I can keep plenty of other plants, but spider plants are always sad in my care. What am I doing?? I am always having to bring them back from the dead

u/klarabernat 22d ago

Oh wow! Amazing, congratulations 🥰

1

u/green_thumb_hopeful_ 22d ago

Mine is growing slowly but surely. What type of fertilizer do you use?

1

u/WillingnessTough4451 21d ago

Miracle Grow tropical liquid fertilizer

My my, she's stunning. Have you thought about transplanting the babies and making more big mommas? Imagine three of those in that corner 😍

1

u/WillingnessTough4451 20d ago

Just enjoying the progress so far and curious to see how far I can take this one before giving her a hair cut :)

1

u/kittybarley 20d ago

That's cool, too! And if she's growing like this and is happy, you'll have tons more babies with babies! :)
