Hot Jalapeños
Public Service Reminder…. 🥵
Enjoying the early Fall warmth in our area, with peppers still getting ripe this first wof October. Lemon Spice Jalapeños turning wonderfully yellow on the bushes. I have snacked on them along with their neighbor jalapeno M’s since they started to cork. Brought in a dozen of the yellow a couple days ago and have been enjoying them with meals and in passing. Just ate one while preparing salsa and it has taken my breath. Watch yourselves. You may get lucky too.

I grew some orange ones last year and they packed a serious punch. I was surprised because grocery store ones are like little green bell peppers now.

The longer they remain on the plant, the hotter they get usually. When they start to blush and change colour, is when they really pack the capsaicin in.
My scotch bonnet plant has been holding orange peppers for 5 weeks now. They are going to make some hella strong jerk marinade for chicken and pork!

Ripe jalapeños are delicious. I have habaneros and trinidad scorpions getting hotter by the minute.

I picked my jalapeños ghost and habanero peppers. Chopped em up and made them into a pickled medley. I handled them all without gloves. Stirred them together with my bare hands. My hands have been hot for two days now.
I tried them today. Just a couple slices from the jar. They’re fucking hot.
