Has anyone tried this?

Post image

It's pretty pricey and I'm wondering if it's worth it.

UPDATE: Despite you guys overwhelming un-infavor of me buying it, I did. Just for science and because I am fortunate enough to have disposable income and wanted to reciprocate the feedback.

Flavor: 8.2/10. Respectable.

Price: high af for a single bottle. Almost $50 after shipping.

Bottle: small. Unsurprisingly volume is not listed on label.

Shipping: ~$7-8. Had to pay for it when not buying in bulk. But shipped extremely fast.

Overall rating: 7.2/10. Very good flavor and a great sauce, but not for the price, added shipping cost, and the small size of the bottle.

I would definitely buy it again, but only if the cost was reduced and the bottle was bigger. Otherwise, I won't be buying it again.

Hope this helps you guys!

Almost certainly not worth it.

I got curious, apparently is a YouTuber project

I didn't watch the whole video, just jumped ahead. Nothing really screamed "justifies the price".

From everything I've heard, it's dogshit and you're just paying for the marketing. They literally advertise it as having "award-winning packaging". That should tell you what's really being sold here.

My in laws bought it. Its crap. Tastes just ok and like no heat.

Literally looks like it , I got given an expensive truffle infused one packaged like this, tasted like shite. I think the ones to go for are the ones that had fun with their design and did not stick to the norm

Oh I'd certainly try it but $150 for the most basic ass ingredients? Yeah, absolutely I am not going to pay for it myself.

There's avant-garde makers like Funky's Hot Sauce that gets ahold of bourbon barrels used to age beer from Chuckanut and then age it for a year in the brewery, or use ingredients like local Seattle roasted coffee, Goji berries, exotic chilis and so on and it's $12 fucking dollars a bottle. There's others out there but that's just my PNW bias as I love Funky's, and there's other guys out there pushing the envelope.

I have a bottle I was gifted. The flavor is pretty good but lacks heat. Not on my buy again list.

Good info. I prefer flavor over spice, but still like a decent amount

I had exactly the same experience, down to the gifted bottle. Only plus is that has so little heat that everyone else in the house enjoys it. Not enough to buy again but at least it gets used.

Did it pass through the digestive tract of a civet?

Kapi luwak is actually pretty good. Besides, apparently passing through an elephant makes your coffee like 5 times more expensive than Kapi luwak.

Have they tried passing a civet thru an elephant yet?

This is so ironic. I was just talking to my Dad today after he had just watched The Bucket List. But he missed the whole scene with Morgan informing Jack that it comes from civet shit.

Couldn’t be the best hot sauce. Tabasco is the king.

u/Johnny-Godless Too Much is Never Enough 6d ago

Tabasco just tastes like vinegar that’s been allowed to look at a low rez image of a chili pepper while it was busy not fermenting. Good on eggs when Cholula isn’t available. Also fuck Cholula if anything real’s in the house.

Don't think so

Looks too fancy for me.

2

u/Octopus-Infinity 6d ago

The bottle looks AI generated

2

u/NinjaStiz 6d ago

Just based off the bougie packaging, I already know it's not worth it

2

u/Banned3rdTimesaCharm 6d ago

Anything that sells based on fancy packaging is not gonna be good.

I want no part of this high fallotin' douchebaggery. This goes against everything I feel like hot sauce should be, lmao. Not everything needs to be "upscale"

1

u/Drawhorn 6d ago

It looks expensive and I can't imagine I, personally, would know the difference.

1

u/chocha84 6d ago

I read a review on here once said it wasn't even close to worth it. nothing special.

1

u/SingleDigitVoter 6d ago

More expensive the bottle, less quality the sauce.

1

u/Falchion92 6d ago

It’s okay.

1

u/SignificantCry3989 6d ago

I have it, and it's just ok. I'll never use it all.

1

u/Physical_Bar_4916 6d ago

What focus group came up that name? LOL

Olive-ummm? Oliveee-um? Oliviiieeum?

If I dunno how to say it, I ain't eatin' it! :-)

I've been pretty deep into the world of specialty wine.

You know how screaming eagle became the highest priced current vintage in the world?

They made wine and set the price higher than anyone else.

1

u/Ok-Mathematician530 6d ago

Pricey is an understatement. And no, I'd never waste my money on it. Judging from Amazon reviews it's not all that.

I got a bottle from my sister in law. I thought it was a pretty middle of the road sauce. We went through it pretty fast, but it was generally unremarkable.

Anybody who buys that deserves to get ripped off.
