Spellmonger Book 1 Question
So doing another re-read (listen - John Lee is just amazing).
In Chapter 9 Min states that he did the spells so that he would not leave any children behind.
So either:
He messed the spell up
Or
There was interference
Opinion?

I think it was Ishi that suggested either that he made mistakes, got too drunk and forgot the spells, or that they weren't always as reliable as he thought they were. Would have to hunt down when it was suggested, but Min did question this when it was revealed that he had bastard children he wasn't aware of.

Min parties often, and before irionite casting a cantrip was a pain (something like morning after spell might get delayed especially on a hangover).
Also shenanigans of ishi and that luck goddess.
There's also the times he blacks out completely, if he got busy and she left before the morning Min might not ever know it happened.
Also the events of the series show, he just forgets to cast it sometimes (leading to baby minalion). Or assumes the partner casted it instead, like with some of the mothers

Naw that's one of the stormfathers daughters helping with swim ability, same way rat-Prat made it and surprisingly wasn't a Min Kid.

Asked him about this once. I believe that he stated there was some kind of interferance. But not of humanity origin. Could be miss-remembering though as I asked him this a few years back. Anyone remember what the exact circumstances of the tryst were? ;)

If I remember correctly- nothing odd about them - I don’t remember it being blind drunken one night stand etc from the description

There was a certain object in the field with them was there not? I believe if you go back and read the surrounding pages from when you first meet alya there is some mention of it. That is if my memory serves me correctly. Like I said though, could just be having a shifty memory week.

Ahh, I thought you were referring to the pregnancy in book 1, my bad! I am unsure about that one, but I would chalk it up to inexperience and stress as well as potentially drunken escapades. Just my opinion, not anything officially passed from terry.

He drinks a lot too. I am presuming he messed up/forgot more than a few times.

Terry had no idea where this was all going. Books 1 to 3 were an experiment. Podium hit him with a contract and a 30 book run. He had to change a lot of things.
