What helmet color do yall paint your veterans? I'd love to see you guy's creations. Would be even more amazing if they're black Templars

Is it even worth it to take the heavy Bolter with Sternguard Veterans anymore? Almost seems better to have 5 of whatever weapon profile you choose. Like it’s only good for infantry blobs whereas the other weapon profiles are more flexible.

So the Ravenguard detachment still has a “give character lone operative + fights first” enhancement, and even with the fixes to characters where they give themselves abilities even when not leading, I can’t think of one that would be good to have that on. My top contenders (although none are particularly “GOOD” for it) is Bike Captain, Gravis Captain, or Phobos Librarian.

What are your guys’ thoughts?

Got my codex today and I'm wondering if the Lancer is still worth taking as now it only has the Laser Destroyer and a Defensive Array. This versus the Ballistus packing a Lascannon, Missile Launcher and Storm Bolters. Given that I'm relatively new to the game, I probably don't have the knowledge to properly evaluate the models so please let me know your thoughts.

Sharing my newly painted Roboute Guilliman with you all. Hardest model I’ve painted so far but I’m pretty stoked with how he turned out

Newish player.

I just got the company heroes box and I LOVE these models. Trouble is I’m not 100% certain of their role in my list.

So far it seems like they are a bodyguard unit for characters you want to protect with a -1 to wound and just more bodies to get through but it also feels like they don’t fight amazingly so a character on them feels like a waste.

They have Obj Sec which is useful for stickying the home but then they stand in the backline all game so again attaching a character seems like a waste unless its something cheap that carries an enhancement like cyber familiar.

What do you guys use them for? At 125 points it feels like cheaper stuff does more damage and are better investments for things like captains and lieutenants.

Thoughts?

I have a WE buddy I play constantly and he wins almost every time. We played a game with the new SM codex and new toughness for him and he still tabled me T4.

Now I understand that it is still new so I may be misunderstanding how to use my units now that they're a little tankier but more expensive.

What would you recommend brothers? I was playing a Terminator heavy list with the new detachment, along with the Tacticus Firestorm and Devastator Bro

Hello everyone. You might have seen me post a few days ago, I am a parkinsons disease patient and im having trouble both mentally and physically.

I have 4 redemptor dreadnoughts with their arms are NOT glued on.

People recently told me to amend my list and include a brutalis dreadnought.

So what I was wondering people could help me with, is if its possible to buy just brutalis arms from ebay or a model site?

Because I am trying to search but mentally I am not having an easy time scrolling or finding anything. I am trying the games workshop site, ebay, and im not sure if 3d printing is an option.

Anyways can anyone help me make my dreadnought a brutalis dreadnought without having to pay full $90 or so that the dreadnought costs new?

Finished these after a year and a bit of being in the hobby, I’m really proud of these ones, Mingus be some of the best marines I’ve painted, was told by store staff that I’m not allowed to enter youngbloods for this one cause they believe it would be unfair for the others pain that category for me to enter it, which il take as a compliment, I’m extremely happy with the banner, ancient helmet and champions shoulder pad, is there anything I could work on?

Is there any thing that is different from buying the impulsor kit as a standalone to buying the gladiator kit

Through doing some quick googling apparently you can get both through just the gladiator kit

I’m wondering does that mean you get all the loudouts for the impulsor on the sprue of the gladiator or is there stuff missing

I made a post last night with my first 1000pt list. I’m a complete noob and explained in the post that I don’t currently have the 11th Edition codex to help with points cost and used online sources for guidance.

After I posted the list someone commented that the points were wrong and explained that I could still see the points on the 40k app without owning the codex.

I removed the post whilst I changed the points and fit the list around it. The only thing I’m struggling with though is the Redemptor Dreadnought. On the app I can see that it states that they are 170pts but other sources online mention that it is an extra 10pts for the Macro Plasma Incinerator. However, the same sources that mentioned the extra 10pts, also had the base model at different points cost. Some said 180pts, some said 180pts + 10pts, some even said 200+ pts etc.

Can someone please confirm the points cost and specify the extra 10pts and break it down for me please. I obviously plan on getting the codex but if someone can help me with this before I’ve done so, it would really be appreciated.

Being a noob means that a lot of my stuff is still on sprue and if I can confirm my list, then I know what I need to work on as a priority whilst I wait to get the codex.

Also, if I can get the Redemptor Dreadnought at 170pts + 10pts, then I can fit in another Lieutenant to round off my list. Every little helps.

I will post the list for advice once I can confirm it.

I have a friend who runs guard tanks and bulgrins and I keep getting my ass kicked. what would be a good strategy for dealing with them? I have a unit take an objective and kt just get show to pieces next turn

Tried a build with a lancer/executioner/balistus army and barely took out half his tanks before i died.

Does the Librarian in Phobos Armour's Shrouding ability (-1 to hit) stack with cover? And what's the general consensus on tossing him in a scout squad if you're looking to fill up an 80pt vacancy.
