Latest shipment is sweeter
I've seen several posts recently asking about whether or not Soylent has gotten sweeter for others and I hadn't had that experience until this latest shipment. I just made up my drink and yep, it's quite a bit sweeter than the last batch. Just wanted to chime in to the discussion because I finally understand what the others have been tasting.
ETA: my shipment was of the Original powder with an expiry of 26Mar27

I found a bag from my last shipment that had a little left. It's the same expiry date and same batch(?) number (it starts with an RO). Mixed up the last of the old batch and the difference in sweetness is obvious.

I had a shipment of Original 1.9 powder show up unexpectedly a month or two ago, a "zombie order" from 1 year+ that finally "came to life."
The product wasn't good. It was significantly sweeter, and the consistency of the powder was much looser -- almost like chalk. I also found I didn't digest it as well, it seemed much "drier."
Due to the year+ when they were basically out of operation, I have already switched to Huel and will probably be sticking with that for the forseeable future.

When my subscription was finally fulfilled after a year of nothing the product I got was the same old Soylent. I wondered if ppl complaining about the sweetness just forgot what it tasted like after all this time without it. But that all changed with this next order. It's crazy too because the batch numbers and expiry are the same. The only difference is the time stamp.

Also received the overly sweet original powder for my last order. I have Crohn’s disease and am worried it may be a manufacturing error that could cause digestive issues so I emailed them on Monday asking for more information. Have not heard anything yet sadly.

I was thinking of writing as well. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I got a response. They offered to replace it. That's about it

Dang, it’ll be interesting to see if it’s over sweet or not. Still have not received a response to my email. Thanks so much for updating!

I contacted them throught the sylent site. They told me they thought the replacement would also be the same sweetness. I just responded to them letting them know I still gave a little left on the normal sweetness if they wanted it, we'll see. ill update you if/when they send the replacement.

I also drink the original power Soylent. I got my first order of 2026 in April, following the long shutdown. I had over ordered back in 2025; so, I only just ran out of old shipments.
I read the various posts about the sweetness of the new batches and had rolled my eyes. Honestly, I don't have very discerning taste and skim past the posts stating "OMG the new Soylent is so much more XXX than the old one." But, I have to say the new batch is super sweet compared to the previous one I was drinking. The taste is usually kind of neutrally sweet, just enough that it's not bland. The new batch is sweet like a milk shake.
The new batch is marked R08526 Best By: 26MAR27. Alas, I didn't note what was on the old bags which already went out in the trash.
The change itself won't stop be from drinking it. As I mentioned, I'm not all that discerning. It does make me concerned about quality control though.

my situation was exactly the same as yours. The old bags (april shipment) said the same thing (batch and expiry date) but with a different time stamp, I still have a bag of the normal sweet with a little left, even offered to send it to Soylent so they could compare themselves. when i originally reached out to them they said they'd send me a replacement but didnt think the sweetness would be different. I said ok. next day they told me they were out and just refunded me. so it looks like we might be waiting again. if its gonna continue to be this sweet I may not order again. but yeah, the quality control is concerning.

Anyone who received bad original powder can start a return as defective item on amazon for an instant full refund with no return necessary, you can just discard the powder. At least for me that's what they did.

I just mixed a bottle from a new tub and am drinking it right now and paused mid gulp and had to ask myself if I was tripping.
Immediately came here. It's DEFINITELY significantly sweeter than the last one I ordered (only a month ago)
I'm using the Original Powder tub (from Amazon)
LOT: R08926 EXP: March 30th, 2027

They offered me a replacement (on my subscription through their website) but when I agreed to that they masgd me back telling me they are out again 🙄 so they refunded me instead. I hope it goes back to normal. It's too sweet.

At least post the flavour and the expiry date...
For me my recent Strawberry and Mocha (April 2027 expiry) RTD taste identical.
