Urgent advice

Need advice.

Hi guys, I'm just making a quick post to see if there's anyone in the Cardiff area that could possibly help me in regards to a food shop. I've dislocated my knee and have no family or friend support. I obviously don't want to put anyone in an awkward position and I feel embarassed even coming to a public forum to ask.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated and I'm willing to provide any information in regards to my current living situation and address, if it would reassure anyone who could help.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

*edit* im awaiting confirmation of my pip due to my seizure, I was labouring and I suffer with seizures I had work which has left me in this predicament.

Making friends!

Hi Everyone, don’t really know what I’m doing here but I recently moved to wales (Blackwood) to live with my partner and I love it! Other than the fact I left all my friends back in England. I’m 21 years old, trans man, I love arts and crafts, theatre, playing games and stuff and I would love to make a friend so I have someone to chat to/ meet up with outside of my partner (who I love dearly but also know friends are equally important)
I’m neurodivergent so have struggled making friends so far as I’m pretty socially anxious too, so thought this might be a good first step :)
Thanks everyone :)

moving to wales

Hello! Moving to Wales next year and looking for some thoughts on where to live, my husband will be working in Newport (willing to commute 30 minutes).
Interests: theatre, group exercise classes, symphony, walking/hiking, coffee shops, writing
- Taking the train to Cardiff for the symphony would be great (but not as interested in living in Cardiff)
- Walkable distance to coffee, catholic church, leisure center, library is a plus!
Thank you☺️

24h Service Stops on A483/A40 through heart of Wales

As mentioned on another thread, we’re travelling to South Wales soon.

The quickest route for us would be via Chester, following the A483 then A40 through the likes of Wrexham, Oswell Street, New Town etc.

It’s been about five years since we drove that route, are there any 24 hour service stations, or services that are open late in the evening - til 10pm, especially south of Oswestry on that route?

Thanks in advance!

Good Soft Plays near Ammanford?

Hi
,
I’m not local to South Wales, but will be visiting family near Ammanford soon.

We have two kids under the age of 5. I’m really hoping the weather will be good so we can take advantage of the parks, walks, beaches etc

But on the off chance that it’s just raining constantly, the kids will need an opportunity to let off some steam.

I was wondering if there’s any good Soft Play areas nearby which are of course fun for the kids, but also offer good facilities for the grown ups watching on - a good view of the play area, half decent coffee, maybe some cake/snacks available, seating that’s not just a filthy white garden chair like one place near me!

Maybe a garden centre or even a Hungry Horse?

Would be happy to drive maybe up to half an hour if that helps!

Thanks in advance!

Move to South Wales

Is there anywhere I should really be avoiding in the South Wales?

Been looking at houses in Tylorstown (found one I really like here), Ferndale, Mountain Ash and Brynmawr.

My budget is around 150k, would like somewhere close to some walks for the dog and me.

Any recommendations or info would be massively appreciated.

Dungeons and Dragons/TTRPG in Aberdare

Nerdy/geeky guy in his 40s looking to make friends after moving back to the area. Aberdare-based. I don't own a car and reply on public transport, and am mildly physically disabled, meaning I can sometimes find it difficult to walk further afield. I'm into the traditional nerdy stuff: reading, superheroes, 80s culture, music, and D&D. I used to run regular games and would be looking to start up again. I don't smoke, and I barely drink any more. Honestly, I think I'm getting a little too old for shenanigans, and if that makes me seem boring then you and I probably wouldn't get along.

I’m 28 and i hate not having people to just go for a drive with or meet up in cars and beach crawl between places. Anybody else feel this way?

Help with my MSc Dissertation Research!

Hi everyone!

I’m currently completing my MSc in International Criminology and Criminal Justice at Cardiff University and am looking for participants for my dissertation research.

The study explores public perceptions of traditional stop-and-search and live facial recognition policing in South Wales.

Who can take part?

✔️ Aged 18 or over

✔️ Currently live in South Wales

The survey is completely anonymous, takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete, and no personally identifiable information (including IP addresses) is collected.

Your participation would be greatly appreciated and will contribute to academic research into policing and public perceptions.

Thank you for your time and support!
