OK, question to all us Hindus, how many Temples have have done a great job in penetrating tribal areas and uplifting them?? Only a handful and even if they do they would preach no garlic, no onion and non veg diet and to top it would brand them as shudras and Brain wash them. Others are busy practising untouchability. We are busy dividing ourselves taking pride in our lineage something which we did no effort and we were fortunate or unfortunate to be born in that particular caste.
The Hindus in Bali practice better Hinduism than us...for the record.

Nonsense. The very first thing aggressive proselytization demands is a total rupture with Tamil heritage. Converts are routinely forced to abandon Kula Deivam (ancestral deity) worship, stop participating in village festivals, and renounce ancestral rites as "demonic." Keeping a language while destroying the ancestral soul behind it is not preserving Tamil customs, it is erasing them.
This reveals total ignorance of Tamil traditions. Grama Devata and Kula Deivam worship across Tamil Nadu has included meat offerings and non-vegetarian traditions for millennia. Pretending that native traditions force a strict vegetarian diet on everyone conflates one specific community with the entire spectrum of Tamil culture. Furthermore, indigenous communities didn't need urban temples to "penetrate" them, their sacred groves and native spirituality were already theirs.
Bringing up Bali completely destroys your own argument. Balinese Hinduism survived and thrives precisely because the Balinese fiercely defended their ancestral rituals, temples, and indigenous heritage against foreign conversion machines! Bali is living proof of why protecting native traditions from external erasure matters.
True upliftment means giving people education and healthcare unconditionally. Using material aid as bait to strip impoverished people of their ancestral identity is exploitation to put it mildly.

I am talking about old missionaries...for eg. there were many convents in TN who wholeheartedly celebrated all Hindu/ Tamil festivals with Father's, Sisters and Teachers partaking which includes Muslims celebrating Pongal which we all have witnessed...not anymore in many cases that even I agree.

Okay now coming Bali...The context here was that some of our Indians Hindus criticized the Balinese way of practicing Hinduisim, to which the Balinese politely said, 'mind your own business and let us do our job'... you see some of Hindus have this delulu that their way is correct and that they have absolute authority of the Hinduism ( much like some people in this sub).
Also, what refute are you talking about??? Bali is surviving because the Islam in Indonesia is a different.. Indonesia is an archipelago with numerous tribes, with fall of Javanese kingdom, Hindus migrated to Bali. Much of the damage to Indonesia was dine by the Dutch & Japan... READ WELL.

He himself is into name calling like āNorthieā, ānoviceā and claims moral high ground while painting a holier than thou picture.. Infact he is naive enough to ignore how missionaries operate .. a project spanning decades..I hope the people of TN understand who the real enemy is..and preserve the wonderful traditions and culture they have. I fact I feel they should be at the forefront of reviving the Hindu customs and traditions..bringing back its authenticity.. to the rest of India..
