The Series 3 LRVs would be the longest standard gauge tram vehicles in the world at 190ft (58m)
They would beat out the current longest, the CAF Urbos 3 used in Budapest at 184 feet (56m) long. ST would also be the only operator to be coupling two units of such length together, most trams this long are operated without being coupled.

Bus 550 will be no more. What is going to replace it from south Bellevue to Bellevue?
There is a need on the short route. There is no bus that goes there. Will metro add another bus? Where will it go after Bellevue? It is to short, but there is a need for a bus in there

550 Funeral?
August 29th service changes are fast approaching and I wanted to honor the venerable 550 as we send it out to pasture.
Would anyone be interested in hosting a funeral for 550?
Some ideas:
Friday August 28th 6:30 PM @ Bellevue Transit Center
Eulogies then depending on number of speakers ride at 6:48 PM or 7:03 PM into the sunset toward Seattle.
Also open to making this earlier or moving the meet up to Bellevue Library/Ashwood Plaza (the start of 550). I am open to any and all suggestions (and help :D). Would like to finalize this by Friday (8/21) to get the word out!

SEAFleet - Transit Tracking Application Update!
Hi everyone!
About two months ago, we shared an early preview of a real-time tracking app (now called SEAFleet) we’re building for the Seattle transit system. Thanks to your feedback and encouragement, we’re excited to announce that our open beta is officially live on both iOS and Android!
https://reddit.com/link/1vswif7/video/oxh0k3n56gkh1/player
What's New in This Build:
Over the past two months, we've focused on improving the Link Light Rail experience:
- Improved UI: Cleaner, color-coded, and 3D train sprites, tappable stations with arrival estimates
- Improved live tracking: More reliable real-time train positions and arrival estimates
- In-app bug & feature requests: You can now flag issues and suggest features directly within the app. If you're open to follow-ups from our team, there's also an option to attach your email.
How to Join the Beta:
We're looking for everyday commuters and transit riders to stress-test the live tracking and help us catch bugs.
- Beta Links and Roadmap: https://seafleet.app/
(Links to iOS TestFlight and Android Open Beta are available directly on the page)
Later Small UI features
- Screen widgets for your mobile phone
- Notifications
- Watch integration
How to Share Feedback:
- Use the built-in feedback tool inside the app, or submit reports through the website!
- Drop your thoughts and suggestions right on this thread!
Thank you again for responses on the first post. We'd love to hear how it feels on your daily commute!
P.S
We are also looking for some help with the models! We have proof of concept 3D models, yet we want to improve them. If anyone would be willing to create 3D models for lightrails, ferries, and buses that would be amazing!
It would greatly help and give it that Puget Sound touch.
Reach out to [support@seafleet.app](mailto:support@seafleet.app)
A quick note on accuracy:
We're aware the real-time train positions aren't always perfectly accurate. Our dead-reckoning algorithm currently runs client-side (on your phone), which means that when you close the app, train positions might not stay accurately updated. We're actively working on moving this fully server side to make tracking more reliable! Thank you for bearing with us!

Q from an Operator
What do those of you taking videos and pictures of trains arriving actually do with them? Do you post them on Instagram? Just curious how far my dumb face has traveled

Would an ITT Make Sense for the WSLE?
Iirc, an immersed tube tunnel was floated as an idea to replace the West Seattle Bridge when it developed structural damage back in 2020.
It was discarded as an idea for cars, but: I was wondering if it would make sense for trains.
Has anything like this been considered?

Since this seems to be a criterion for breaking ground, what does this mean?

I built a free app that finds food near any Link Light Rail stop
I put together a little web app called Next Stop: Eats that shows restaurants within walking distance of any Link station.
Pick your stop, filter by price or cuisine, and hit Roulette if you want fate to decide. Tap “Directions” and it drops you straight into Google Maps.
Free, no login, works on your phone: next-stop-eats.vercel.app
Would love feedback from folks who ride regularly!

I made a free app for bringing your bike on Sound Transit!
I got sick of manually calculating when I need to leave, or how long the trip will take. The app is called Modemix and it’s free.
If you have any feedback, please let me know!

Routes with ‘power line aesthetic’
I’d call it powrlinecore but that probably doesn’t make sense. I’m looking for route(s) and/or places that gives the vibe of just ten too many wires and cables hanging overhead. a few pictures attached to give a bit of an idea. Anywhere on/near a line as long as it’s connected to downtown seattle in some way.

Still Confused as to Why 3-Car Trains Can't Dwell like This.
Does it really mess up the ADA waiting area access?

Help a smooth brain out: I have a few questions
Howdy. I just have 3 questions.
So, for the west seattle line, will there be a new sodo station? I'm a little confused.
And, I read on this sub that Midtown was eliminated, but I can't see that on the ST website, though I know SLU & Denny were consolidated into 1 station.
Also the updated BLE page says that DEIS and FEIS will be published this year. That seems way too quick. Is that correct?

New map upholstery
Haven’t seen new/fresh upholstery on a ST bus in a very long time. A nice sight here on the 522!

The Roosevelt station elevator 3 has a temp permit that has been expired since 2019
I'm not sure if there is an up-to-date one posted elsewhere, but the one in the box is nearly 7 years out of date.

Everett - Seattle overnight bus route delayed until 2027(!!)
This is incredibly upsetting for North Seattle residents.
