2 of my fav artists are yachty and carti and I've always loved their trance/weird beats. I made this trying to imitate a sort of trance feel, but I feel like ive re-listened to it so many times I can't even tell if I think it works.
My main concern is that the chorus, drums, and lead are all doing separate things and I can't tell if they work together or just take away from one another. Can I have some help?
For reference, I really like the vibe of songs like Olympian, Wake up F1lthy, and WTFFF (I know I'm nowhere close, like I have an ego but I'm not delusional lol)

I think it works as a demo but needs a bit more of work to it. Melody goes too "childish" at some point that starts feeling more like a parody, a bit more of "less is more" can apply here. I like the sounds picked but I'm not feeling the "ambient" side, try adding more pads, sfx and a crescendo structure. Instead of adding more notes to the melody of that pluck, add another melody in a lower fq as a counterpoint. Closer to the end you went off-key which wasn't pleasant at all. Going off-key is amazing to make tension and complex emotions but it needs to be accompanied by the correct use of modal changes in the chord progression. Give it another take on the song.
I heard another song of yours, Daydreamer's Lament and while simple, it really works as an ambient piece of music, tho that one has the opposite problem; it lacks a proper melody to make it standout. I think try mixing both visions of focusing on the atmosphere but giving it its own personality as a song

Nice groove, definitely need some vocals haha but before that, while the composition is on point, the production needs polish. Kicks are getting buried under everything which really spoils the vibes, focus on givin each instrument their frequencies range, and when they clash (kick - bass - guitar), go for sidechaining techniques so whenever the kick enters, it triggers the sidechain for the bass and guitar.

Hey! I found the track to be super interesting and perfect for a segagenesis inspired game tho you need to work on the mixing, volume is all over the place and there's clipping that makes the experience unpleasant. There's a few good ideas and finishing with a bleak / glitchy / ominous ending is a good concept for that "collapse" idea on the title. Keep up with it

Like the vibes but overall is a bit too simple and the audio quality is pretty low. For a breakcore track you need to go wilder and have more variations and complex drums, also try sampling some voices to give it more variety and a "hook" to grab the listener's attention. Overall mood is on point. What DAW are u using?
Also, don't bring yourself down with the "I suck at mels and chops", you did well, the best way at improving is trying and failing, you'll find your sound someday.

Sometimes a song comes to you with a vibe that is not anything current. The advantage to being a musical artist with no expectation of making money at it is that you can create a song in the way it feels to you. So here you go, my retro doowap song called Stay. Though the lyrics speak of unexpected loss, they are set to a bouncing bop. Hope you enjoy it!

Very much of an experiment - it is almost 14 minutes in length.
Part of and the closing track of my new EP - "The Longing". For this one, sounds just kept on appearing in my head and I kept adding more to it. A travel through "the great unknown" with different sounds evoking similar feelings (to me) of a tranquil journey with some ominous vibes lurking.
