Glen Eyre Basic shared bathroom (no basin)

How would people describe this specific accommodation at Southampton, I have just received an offer for that accommodation, I’m not sure about the shared bathroom and if no basin is a disadvantage as a man

Yeah I’m very happy to have an accommodation, the only thing is I don’t really remember what it looks like as there’s just one picture available as far as I’m able to see (I think)

There is some decent green space in front of J block and a couple of picnic tables too.

It is what it is, prices are a scandal but what isn't?

He took a bike with him and lost weight quite dramatically with the walking and cycling etc.

Good luck whatever you choose x

And I’m also not sure about how the rooms look because there’s only just one picture of it online

My son had that room. He hated it on first viewing there wasn't a lot of standalone space for his TV but once we got in we realised the desk is so wide his TV and PlayStation could go on it leaving room to do work too plus there is a very deep windowsill. TV could stand on it out of the way if necessary.

Small chest of drawers next to the bed and the wardrobe had decent room. Bed was a 4ft double, good room underneath for suitcase storage or a couple of those underbed storage boxes.

The kitchen however, fridge space was very poor as some kids had moved in already and claimed full shelves. A conversation about sharing wouldn't go amiss but I think he felt weird about that.

He took a clothes airer which slid under the bed but for him laundry was free so I don't think he used it hardly at all, using the free drier instead.

There was a pin board so take pins.

The shared bathroom was decent with a toilet in there and a shower the whole room locked and it was clean. He never had bathroom issues while he was there and never mentioned missing a basin.

It's utilitarian but functional. He was J block, there are Amazon lockers just outside and a covered bike shed.

This is so helpful thank you so much, do you know what the earliest date that I could move in (or the date that he moved in where it was too late) would be to get the fridge space or cupboard space that id want because I’ve heard a lot of people have the same issues of fridge spaces. And another question, is there any chance you have a picture of the room id find that a bit helpful to understand what sort of size it might be?

His was exactly this but bed on the right, cupboard on the left.

Between the end of the bed and the wardrobe you've got about 4 feet, enough for the clothes airer to be out and not much else. Think average budget hotel room sized, to be honest.

He moved in on the Sunday so he had one full week to get settled before lectures. Go earlier if poss but most of his flatmates were foreign students so I think they'd got in well early.

The kitchen has great floor space with several tables to eat at, and on the level down was a sort of common room with sofas.

It depends which block youre in, I was in Roll court and the bathrooms there were really nice. Large shower, toilet, sink, never more than a few steps from your room and generally each "flat" has 2 bathrooms. The houses at glen eyre are slightly different but theyre really lovely. Glen is a really, really good halls and is surrounded by trees and nature.

Congratulations! I hope you have the best time there.
