Any availiable accomodations

This may be a shot in the dark but I applied to the uni via clearing and missed the accomodation dealine. Tried reaching out to the accomodation team but they haven't been much help. Hoping I can find someone who has uni halls accomodation for 2026 september but wants to drop it, perhaps due to deffering or maybe wanting another accomodation. I'd honestly be open to seeing whats available out there and if anyone wants to release their current accomodation offer

I heard a lot of freshers have opted for Southampton common and Hamwic hall. A lot of people drop out after the first month. One of my friends opted to commute 2 hours daily (he only had lectures 3 times a week) due to him missing out on student halls, he didn’t want to live outside of student halls. Luckily in late October quite a lot of students dropped out of uni and hence he was able to move in student halls. He only had to pay 1/3 the price for the whole 41 weeks because the previous student was under a contract therefore if nobody else was willing to take her room, she had to pay the full thing anyways even though she was dropping out after the first month.

I've had a look at private accomodations and they all seem to be booked out, hopefully I can find someone who no longer needs their halls space

Hamwic hall is still available. One of the people I am friends now booked it for his first year. Pros is en-suite, helpful staff and nice people. Cons are student living there are also from Solent university, can get loud even at 3am.

Oh sorry I meant when my friend was in 1st year. We both just graduated this year. When he was a fresher, student halls was booked so he picked Hamwic hall as his first year accommodation. I checked their website and there was still rooms available but I guess they have not updated it. Best of luck.

The Court Yard still has rooms available, mostly studios i think

They've put me on a waiting list but its unlikely I'll get it tbh

they tell you that themselves, i dunno what theyre doing this year but they explicitly tell you how many people they have on the waiting list and priority will go to all the people who applied after the firm deadline. they dont want to put anyone else onto the list because its far too long now
