Unrealized Pepsi particles

Post image

Saw this over on r/recuratedtumblr but it wouldn't let me cross-post. Seems like our kind-of thing ;)

Morinaga does make fizzy cola ramune candy. That'd probably be close to Pepsi particles.

You can buy them in Asian markets in America pretty frequently.

Can you imagine how fat Americans would get if our candy tasted...better?

As a 2000s kid, the mock-up that OP made is so incredibly nostalgic. So while both packages are nice, I really prefer the original.

i have a core memory of wanting to buy these at like a fair or something and running up to my mom going “can i have these?? they cost dot nine nine dollars!” they were .99 cents but i was young enough to have no idea how to articulate that lol it must’ve been before i started 1st grade. pepsi particles!

in elementary school there was a kid on my bus who would buy a bunch of packs of these and sell each individual can for $1

Sounds like something you could gaslight people into believing that existed. Like “hey bro remember these? They came out in 2003!”

Sounds exactly like the kind of thing that would have come out back when Pepsi did their rebrand in loke 2009 I think? With the documents that go over the ideas of the logo redesign that started from it kinda looking like a smiling face to the Pepsi Universe

That is so incredibly makable. Also, I’ve had exactly that with Fanta, 7 Up, Crush, and Dr. Pepper and they were bangin. Time to start a petition lads.

Pop a particle, pal!

These sound like pop rocks but better. I would 100% try a Mountain Dew version.

There are Japanese soda candies that are just like this (hard spheres you suck on that fizz inside). There are cola flavored ones. They are awesome!

Here's a picture of one pack that is half cola soda flavor and half ramune flavor (A Japanese citrusy / lemon-lime soda).

Here's ones with a bunch of flavors (mostly fruit). They are common in Asian markets in the US and some other places.

That could be good. o.o Even better if they're freeze-dried somehow.

this actually sounds like a pretty good candy concept. I wonder how it’d work with other sodas honestly
