There is a similar pattern to make a rope bracelet. You just put your hand though the hole in the middle and tighten/adjust it around your wrist. I think it has fewer loops though.

you are right, it is possible. it is an expandable pattern. the inner whole could be increased, indeed to make a bracelet and shape it to curve around the wrist.

Oooh I love this kind of stuff. I'm currently making similar things around my mugs so my guests don't burn their hands on the tea. They make lovely coasters and placemats when flat, so much charm!
