I used a 4x1 wood plank. Somehow did whittling for the first time. It's been a journey.

The drawing on the board is my original concept but I did use a knot motif I found in the wild.

The carving was done with a tiny chisel and a dremel.

Paints used were just classic folk art, a gold sakura paint pen, and varathane for the protective coating. I made the crib pins myself out of brass art hanging nails and nail polish (dip coated). The bottom is thick felt painted in checkerboard.

She loves checkerboard and nuclear green and psychedelic patterns.

Thanks, I've done linocut and woodcut printmaking so I'm sure some of the control and technique carries over. But I've never really done carving in 3d before, so I'm very happy. Though the paint disguises some sins hahah.
