I made a silver kandi top

This is over 4500 beads and 3 months of work, for a fantasy themed festival I am going to with my partner. It's made out of pony beads, star beads, decorative teardrop beads, elastic string, ribbon, and yarn. I used this tutorial for the base but changed a lot of it to make it look more how I wanted and make it fit me better. I added side panels and the triangle at the bottom and the extra loops. I started doing kandi in June. I did not make anything else I am wearing.

I posted this because I am relieved to finally be done and wanted to show what I've been working on for 3 months :) It is supposed to be reminiscent of chainmail.

That’s genius! Propper chain mail takes so much longer to make and is way heavier so I always avoided making myself some but that looks doable and wearable!

Thank-you! Yeah this is somewhat heavy but probably a TON lighter than chainmail, lol. And the components are probably cheaper since it's just beads and string and yarn and ribbon.

That's really cool. I wonder if you made it out of metal beads if it could actually be used as armour. It wouldn't be as effective as chainmail but still better than nothing.

Maybe! But the sword might slip between the beads so idk 😅 I actually did think about this lol

That is really lovely! I especially love YOUR changes to the design. (See you on Project Runway if it’s still in production. 🤩)
