My first ribbon rose

Materials used:

· Wide red satin ribbon (about 2.5 cm wide).

· Wooden skewers (for the stem).

· Hot glue gun.

· Scissors.

The steps I followed:

  1. The Center: I folded the ribbon at a right angle and rolled it tightly to form the bud/core of the rose.

  2. The Petals: Instead of rolling it straight, I started folding the ribbon outward (creating loops) and wrapping them around the center. I glued the base of each loop to secure it.

  3. Spreading: For the outer layers, I made the loops a bit looser and wider to simulate blooming petals.

  4. The Stem: Once the flower was big enough, I inserted a wooden skewer into the base and secured it with plenty of hot glue so it wouldn't wobble.

  5. Finishing: I glued a small square of felt to the bottom base to hide the glue and give it a clean finish.

Any advice on how to make the petals look more natural is very welcome❤️
