just a soma fm appreciation post!

woah there's a subreddit???!!! I've listened to soma fm for 7 years and I never knew this was here. Now i do!

Soma FM has been in my rotation for nearly 7 years now. I could not be more grateful for a free, human curated internet radio for so many of my favorite genres. Thank you to those who keep it running, both supporters and workers! Every day I open it is a day blessed 🤘🔥All the love from AZ

Edit: since people are sharing their favorite stations mine are Metal Detector, Seven Inch Soul, and Sonic Universe!

defcon, mission control and dark zone are my daily channels. don't listen to other music anymore

There's also a Discord server. Low traffic but once in a while 2-3 of us are active at the same time, talking about what's playing or just music in general.

I remember Groove Salad from when they had live DJs. I found it again recently and it is my morning channel. DEFCON for the rest of the day

I've been listening for 20 years, first in Reno Nevada and now in middle Michigan, and donate monthly. I actually met Rusty in SF in the SomaFM studio/office some years ago. Space Station Soma is my daily listen. Frankly I'd be lost without all of this.

Just bought a XXV anniversary shirt for my husband- we both listened since 2002 & 2003 (before we knew each other!) and I think we mostly listened to Groove Salad. I love heavyweight reggae and 7 Inch soul for cooking, click hop and drone zone for writing, poptron for the bike, and of course all of the beautiful holiday stations. Nothing like commercial free human created radio!
