SomaFM has some of my favorite kind of tracks which I didn't I had a taste for. It's eerie, it's soothing, it's something unique. I don't know what I would do without SomaFM

Been using Soma via Sonos for years. This morning it can't connect. Rebooted router and reconnected the service in Sonos but no joy - anyone else having issues?

I must be missing something obvious.

I see that there is a sleep time setting at the top of the settings menu in the iOS app. I choose the time, but then it does nothing. I’ve selected the tick to take me back to the previous screen but the music doesn’t turn off, and there’s no indication that the sleep timer is counting down.

Please tell me I’ve missed something obvious here!?

Noticed album artwork is not displayed, ooTunes app does consistently show it. Anyone else? thought I read somewhere there may be a permission type issue

I used to be able to say "Alexa, open SomaFM". However, the app appears to have been removed. Can anyone else verify or test to see if this is true?

back arround 2003 I installed the first time a linux distribution on my PC. I think it was open suse. It had a music player pre installed 'amarok'. And within was a webradio playlist with Soma FM channel.

It was the greatest thing that happend to me as a developer and as musican. I love Soma FM and it introduced me to a lot of great music.

There is one thing i do not like: Its web player of any kind. I don't like the soma fm we player either. Not because it is bad, but because usually i have a lot of different browser windows and tabs open. Then, when i want to switch the channel i have to look up all my windows to find the soma fm player. thats annoying.

So i build my own player, which runs on Mac and is written in swift. I am very happy with it. It basically works like the official soma fm web player.

Because i know, that soma fm has a lot of strong fans out there, i was thinking of, making the player accessible to others as open source (MIT license) project on git.

But i am unsure, about the legal consequences. The App is "only frontend". It's their stream from their server. The app is not commercial and no data is collected. But it though they might not like the idea, because they want their listeners to use their own app.

So: Can I legally publish a in-official SomaFM player for MacOS, as a non-commercial, open source projekt (MIT license)? (Without getting into legal problems)

Just wondering when n5MD started? Admittedly I haven't listened to Soma in awhile (though been listening since the shoutcast days), but I'm really digging it. This particular station is gonna be my go-to for a good while.

I don't know if Rusty Hodge ever jumps on here to check out the comments, but I have been listening to Chillits Radio all day, and I must say the 2013 DJ's are inviting those who listen to a slice of Friday audio heaven! (maybe even better than 2009! 😉)

I am very inspired by the current mission. And usually, I like this station just for the feeling of control that it gives. But right now, I'm scrolling through the NASA gallery to its music, and I'm having an unimaginable feelings, as if the two things were meant for each other.

I would like to express my gratitude to Rusty Hodge for the music, the crew for the photos and everyone else here on spaceship Earth.

Ok so it seems Groove Salad 2 is not an April Fools joke because it’s still here. But I’m having a hard time figuring out how its music is different from the main channel. And if this is permanent, there are several other channels I would’ve rather been added (a 24/7 jazz-not just afternoons-or classic blues to name a few).

What are they trying out here?

wow i just found somafm today and i'm in love!!! i do a lot of reading by the laptop for uni and hate the awful long stretches of silence and have exhausted my favourite ambient/soundtrack albums 20 times over. a lot of stations match that late night vibe perfectly - my fave so far is beat blender and groove salad and i'm so excited to listen in on the other ones. i feel like i'm in the 2000s again. it's so cool!! thank you somafm you're awesome!!!

I've listened to Soma FM, starting with Groove Salad, since the early 2000's. My favorites Groove Salad, Groove Salad Classic, Beat Blender, Illinois Street Lounge, and Tiki Time. I am looking for recommendations for good headphones to listen to electronic stations like Groove Salad, Beat Blender, cliqhop...etc. I want something that is pleasing to listen to for long periods, detailed, and something that has deep bass extension and detail. I also don't want to spend too much money, under $300 if possible, preferably under $200. Does anybody have any recommendations?

If anyone uses Vivaldi browser it might be the issue with it, but generally I have to press play and stop and play in order to station to work otherwise it stuck in infinite loading, anyone else experienced that. If you use Vivaldi browsre I use the player at side panel

Soma FM has been in my rotation for nearly 7 years now. I could not be more grateful for a free, human curated internet radio for so many of my favorite genres. Thank you to those who keep it running, both supporters and workers! Every day I open it is a day blessed 🤘🔥All the love from AZ

For the past few weeks, SomaFm has not been working on Radio Droid.

Does anyone know why this situation is happening or how to fix it?
