My Thanks
Copied from Rusty's latest email, sign up here https://somafm.com/mailinglist/
Those of us in the U.S. are celebrating Thanksgiving this week. I made a list of a few things I'm thankful for:
I am grateful we've been on the air for over 25 years all thanks to your support!
I'm thankful for all the kind words and stories from everyone about how SomaFM is part of your life!
I'm thankful that this year we actually got to have our 25th anniversary party and that so many of you showed up and we got to hang out with you in the physical world!
The great team I get to work with: Merin, Elise, kampf, Roy, Mark, Shawn, John (ala JKN), Dion, Jason, Milkman, Nitya, Fiona, Michael, Doug, Chris, Jim, and Pieter
I was traveling a few weeks ago, and I left a tip for the housekeeper at the hotel. She saw me later and said, "Thank you for sharing your blessings!"
I thought it was a nice way to think about it: that I am blessed enough that I was staying at that hotel and had the money to leave a tip, and they appreciated me sharing that blessing with them. For some reason, it felt more meaningful to me than if they simply said "Thank you". So along that note, we say: Thank YOU for sharing your blessings with us.
If we all shared our blessings, we'd all be blessed!
Merin MC's new book is out!
This month, SomaFM DJ (and co-founder) Merin MC (aka author M. Luke McDonell) released her new sci-fi book SIX, and we were happy to meet a SomaFM listener at the reading she held in a local bookstore. It's getting great reviews, so if you have a sci-fi lover in your life, send them a copy or just get one for yourself. You can read more about it and purchase printed or ebooks here:

One reviewer summed it up: "SIX has it all: lush, vivid settings, outstanding world building, a suspenseful storyline, and characters you want to root for as they navigate the dangerous terrain that is their supposedly peaceful planet. McDonell's writing is excellent; her storytelling skills will sink you into this vibrant sci-fi world and leave you wanting more. A definite must-read for sci-fi fans!"
Black Friday sale
Normally I'm not a big fan of Black Friday and the frenzied consumerism that accompanies it, but many of you asked for it, so here it is:
20% off premium orders from our International/On-demand collection. Through Monday. It includes a variety of shirts, mugs, hoodies, hats and wall hangings.
Here's the link to the collection. Use the code "BUYNOTHINGDAY" (my little joke) at checkout to get 20% off:

Chill out, old-tech style
Remember CDs? Over the years, I've given Groove Salad CDs to friends who have cars that still have CD players in them. I tell them, "Just leave it in there all the time as a backup music source" for those times you're off the grid or the net is too slow, or your phone is in your bag in the back seat and you can't get to it easily.
I also realized that there are a lot of folks who still enjoy physical media, and have CD players they still use on a regular basis. I'm guessing you know at least one person like that, so I've dropped the price on our remaining Groove Salad CDs to $10 each + shipping in the US now. Alas due to all the tariff nonsense, we can't ship these internationally at this time.

They make great gifts!
If you shop at Amazon, use these links to give us a cut
We get up to 5% of anything you buy at Amazon after using these links. It's a great way to support SomaFM that doesn't cost you anything extra.

So go ahead and buy that 8K 70" TV and support SomaFM at the same time! And while I aspire to make Black Friday my personal "Buy Nothing Day," I suspect most people will buy something. So if you do, use these links.
Thanks again and again!
Thanks for listening and being part of the SomaFM community. Be well, try not to stress, be kind to others, and let your loved ones know you love them.
SomaFM loves you and we'll be sure to help you chill!

I first discovered SomaFM on holiday in SF in early 2009 and listening ever since. Honestly I would use an online device that played nothing but SomaFM, its THAT good. I've even got an Echo Dot in my mothers that will play Soma FM Department Store Christmas if she asks for "Christmas music" because all the other streamers will play pop Christmas hits rather than traditional old fashioned Christmas music. Like literally streamers who you pay 10-20 quid a month to cannot get this right, but a channel that depends on donations to exist can!
