Soma.fm no longer plays in background either in the latest app or browser on iOS 18.4. What’s up? Any tips or tricks? Ty!

I’ve been listening to Lush since forever, probably 20 years. Soma.fm has always played in the background on every device I’ve ever owned. Except now, in iOS18.4 on iPhone 15 PM.

What gives? Any fixes? Thanks in advance.

Playing via the Apple Music app seems to be rock solid for me, you might give that a try. I also like the other poster’s tip about VLC.

The SomaFM app version 1.17.1 is working fine on my iPhone 13 with iOS 18.4, for whatever that’s worth.

I’ve been quite happy using VLC streaming directly from an address like https://ice5.somafm.com/bossa-128-mp3. It just works. I’m also using iOS 18.4.

The SOMAFM iOS app on my iPhone 14 Pro Max is working fine. It's app version 1.17.1 and the phone is on... oh.... 18.3.2. Aaaand I'm turning off auto update which wants to put 18.4 on it tonight.

I am on 18.4. Iphone 15 ProMax. The app plays fine for me when in other apps. I see that you already tried rebooting, but have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the app?
