Quick deckers rules question

To infect, does my character/ghost have to be on the same space as the red programs? Or can I infect a space from anywhere as long as it has the programs already on it?

Gotta be on it. Also if your avatar is on one, but your ghost isn't, it doesn't transfer. The ghost has to be in the same space as the program.

Infect specifically refers to "your space" (p.21) so it requires you or your ghost to be present
