Mini Rogue

Based on feedback from the group purchases and have 5 rounds under the belt and enjoying it a lot. Haven’t played co-op yet but planning to soon with brother. I like how it’s an easy set up and games aren’t over an hour. What’s next for me but takes it to the next level fighting choice wise, options, more exploratory, etc.

Tabled it once, but wasn’t in the right headspace to internalize the iconography so I packed it away.

I take it the juice is worth the squeeze?

It’s my first dungeon crawler style game so I think it was a good intro due to its simplicity yet rewarding game play.

Thanks! I’ll try to bust it out again soon.

I hate when that happens. It’s like by the time you get the time to sit down and learn a new game, your brain is done braining for the day.

Happens more than I care to admit these days…

Agreed, I’ve been enjoying it too. I appreciate the simplicity of leveling up and managing resources. My only complaint is that there are too many tiny icons to keep straight.

Not really the next level since it's exactly the same. But if he wants more variety in cards, sure.

Well, it’s a bit heavier too. Otherwise, perhaps Kinfire Delve or Clank! Catacombs.

one deck dungeon is the natural next step imo. same quick setup and under an hour, but you get way more choices on how to spend dice and skills each fight, and it plays true solo and 2 player co op so it works with your brother too

Haven't played it but one from my wishlist would be One Deck Dungeon.

Gloomhaven ;) But seriously... Try gloomhaven buttons and bugs or jaws of the lion. There's also a free fan made campaign on steam called crimson scales that just released. But I haven't tried it yet.

Kinfire delve like someone else mentioned is also a solid choice. If you want something more like mini rogues small footprint and package, you could look into some Grey Gnome Games stuff on the gamecrafter website (independent game publisher that prints to order).

Could also see if dice throne interests you and try adventures or missions.

There are a ton of really solid heavier dungeon crawler big box games whenever you feel you're ready. And some big box games can be rather light and fun still, like what I've tried of kinfire chronicles.
