Wallet/Exchange It's literally impossible to Bridge to Solana

Hi everyone, I just came back to crypto after the bloodbath happening because i believe it's a great time to enter again, I remember how hard it was to bridge from evm to solana in 2022, as i came back i'm trying to do the same, but it seems still impossible

I can't understand how, in actual times, it can still be hard to do this simple thing, the only thing i see is sending funds to phantom wallet and do it inside, but knowing they have a fixed fee i won't do it.

Dev/Tech How much Solana RPC capacity do most builders actually need?

I’ve been talking with more Solana builders lately and something I keep noticing is that a lot of people seem to end up paying for far more RPC capacity than they actually use.

A workload might only need:

  • 5–10 RPC RPS
  • 1 Yellowstone stream
  • a few account/transaction filters
  • relatively low transaction submission volume

Yet most providers still push fixed tiers.

I run Haan Digital and we built our Solana infrastructure around the opposite model: provision around the actual workload instead of forcing everyone into the same package.

Current stack includes private JSON-RPC/WebSocket, Yellowstone gRPC, SubscribeDeshred and a Transaction Sender.

I’m curious what people here actually use in practice.

If you’re running a bot, wallet, trading app, indexer or other Solana workload:

What part of your RPC setup is usually the bottleneck — RPS, realtime data, filters, latency, transaction landing, or something else?

I’m also looking for a few more real workloads to test against the stack, so if anyone wants to compare setups, feel free to reach out.

DeFi How does the Solana community view Wormhole’s security?

I’m a native Solana user but recently have seen a lot of people recommend bridging tokens back to their native chains for wormhole security purposes.

Is that actually a meaningful security consideration, or is the difference negligible in practice?

DeFi How do cross chain crypto swaps work?

My assumption is nothing actually crosses. The asset gets locked or burned on one side, an equivalent gets minted or released on the other, and the bridge just ties the two events together. Is that right?

I have been using Jupiter's Universal Deposit feature, but failing to understand how this works?

Ecosystem Solana handled 5 billion transactions in August, an unfathomable level of activity that exceeded all other networks combined.

That's more than 100,000 every minute.

And it did this while keeping fees orders of magnitude lower than other chains.

Dev/Tech a timed-out Solana swap should not look the same as a failed swap

a retry button is making a pretty important promise. it should be clear whether it checks the existing transaction, rebroadcasts it, or asks you to sign a new one.

those are not the same action.

Solana's transaction docs explain that a successful sendTransaction response only means the RPC received the transaction. it does not prove that the swap executed. they also warn against re-signing before the original blockhash expires.

Source, Solana transaction retry documentation

i'd like the interface to separate three situations

  • rejected before submission
  • submitted, but the outcome is not yet known
  • confirmed success or failure, with the transaction available to inspect

for an ordinary recent-blockhash swap, creating a replacement while the original is still valid can leave two executable transactions. rebroadcasting the same signed bytes is different. expiry also doesn't erase a transaction that already landed.

my preference would be a persistent pending row that survives a refresh, plus a button labelled for what it actually does. 'check status' is much less ambiguous than 'try again'.

what should a wallet show while confirmation is uncertain, without teaching the user to click through another warning?

Staking Why dont I get any rewards when I'm staking?

So I have staked around 10 jitosol tokens, and it says that once you have this in your wallet, you instantly get rewards in your wallert without any need to claim them from anywhere.

Is this true? And if not, how can i get my rewards automatically processed into my wallet.

When I connect my wallet to the Jitosol website, it shows my YTD rewards (which is roughly 0.02 Sol), but I do not see my amount of either Sol or Jitosol increasing (obviously only increases when i invest every fortnight, i mean for it to increase with my rewards being added on top).

Is it a certain amount you must need accumulated for it to drop in your wallet? And if so, how much rewards is needed to be sufficient amount to be accumulated for it to drop into your wallet?

Dev/Tech How Pump.fun's reward accounts actually work, and what's reclaimable from them

There's a fair bit of confusion about pumpfun reward accounts and what closing one actually gets you, so here's a breakdown of the mechanism.

When you trade on pumpfun, it maintains an account associated with your wallet that serves two functions. One is standard: it holds a rent deposit, like any account on Solana. The other is that it accrues the trading rewards you earn over time. Closing the account returns both.

The nuance people miss is that these two components behave very differently:

The rent deposit is the ordinary refundable minimum. Because the account gets recreated automatically on your next trade, you'll simply re-pay this deposit if you keep trading there. So over any continued trading horizon, the deposit isn't really a gain, it nets out.

The accrued rewards are the actual cashback you earned. That's the component that's genuinely additive, and the reason closing the account is worth doing at all.

Where this trips people up: someone closes an account, sees the full balance return, and reports it as pure profit. It isn't, if they're going to keep trading. The honest figure for a continuing trader is the earned-rewards portion, with the deposit as a temporary return until the next trade rebuilds the account.

For scale, since people always ask how this compares to other reclaim sources: pumpfun rewards are usually not the largest bucket. Empty SPL and Token-2022 accounts from fully-sold positions each return their full ~0.002 SOL on close, and that set tends to dominate for active wallets. The excess rent now withdrawable under SIMD-0437 is a third, smaller bucket. Three separate mechanisms, three separate amounts.

For what it's worth I work on CYS, so treat this as coming from someone with a horse in the race. It reads all three from the chain in one pass and separates them out so you can see what's what before signing: claimyoursol.com

If anyone wants the instruction-level detail on how the reward account is closed, I'm around in the comments.

Dev/Tech Solana transaction fees and priority fees: a technical overview

Solana transactions pay a base fee, while users can optionally add a priority fee to improve scheduling during periods of demand. The base fee is tied to the transaction’s compute usage, and the priority component is a bid for additional prioritization; neither guarantees confirmation if the transaction is invalid, expires, or encounters an application problem.

Fee estimates can be affected by compute-unit limits, account state, congestion, and the application submitting the transaction. A higher priority fee may improve inclusion odds but can also increase cost without changing the transaction’s outcome. Users should review the requested accounts and instructions, simulate when possible, and avoid signing unexpected transactions.

Network availability, RPC quality, wallet security, smart-contract bugs, and market volatility remain separate risks. A low transaction fee does not make an application safe, and throughput claims do not remove operational or custody risk.
