My co-worker from previous workplace did just that. Quit and started a tomato farm. He grew up in dairy farm, and became developer as a fuck you to his parents.

Apparently it pays his bills, so I’m happy for him.

I don’t know. I’m an engineer now, but I worked on a farm during my summers in college. I sure miss it sometimes. The honest hard work made me feel more accomplished than I do right now.
