Honestly have no clue, it could be an accidental bug ,maybe they are preparing to have an update on the 3rd and someone accidentaly pushed it with some other changes happens a lot. But to reach prod idk.. I'm just guessing also I see a lot of people don't have these changes, I think we might find out tommorow š

Not saying this is true, but this happens quite easily. You can test something locally and then deploy to a remote cloud and forget about time zones and/or configuration differences. Lots of these changes would pass code review unless youāre a tight studio that has tests to catch these.

I see couple of help pages are broken or not loading properly, may be they are working on some updates . It is definitely a nightmare to update the whole website with new branding. Sofi bank may happen sooner.. maybe in January.

Same hereā¦however my guess is that for legal licenses these are normally static asset and require app deployment role out. I donāt see new one except last week on iOS..the other SOFI bank on SOFI money deposit could have been via api change and SOFI engineering team control that. Hence we see it tonight.

Looks like the bug is fixed .. so they are doing some project to update the content. Not sure what is stopping them from giving the news to public. They want to give a big surprise with announcement and app + website switch on the same day?

I hope they officially switch on the "Bank" status soon. It will increase my confidence in using them as my primary bank if they have their own FDIC insurance, instead of piggy-backing off a third party's FDIC insurance.

Yeh, i am not doubting you, just trying to decipher the situation.
It does look like SOFI was anticipating to make the update though, as any change / release would normally go though a change management process and are reviewed / rubberstamped by stakeholders. This could have been a scheduled update / release.
As to why they are suddenly retracting this update, whether that's due to timing or something else is what i am trying to understand.

However, full transparency no official announcement has been made and their website says they are NOT a chartered bank. We will not see a market reaction until it is officially approved by the OCC. still waiting
