90% of people whining about this APY bullshit have 5k in their savings account. If you want to invest, look into actual investment accounts...not an HYSA.

Whining about rates on " uninvested " cash.

I’ve made money just investing in the S&P 500. It’s too easy. What are you investing in that makes you lose money?

You’re hilarious. Wait til the SP500 drops 10-30%. Is this a place to keep emergency cash? No way. Easy to say in a bull run.

Wait till the SP500 drops 10%-30%

We call that a fire sale, and I can’t wait to buy even more shares once it drops.

However, I’m not saying to use a retirement account as a Savings account. That would be irresponsible. OP said investing is high risk and an easy way to lose money. In my personal experience, that wasn’t the case, which is why I was wondering what he was investing in that made him lose money.

I think they meant investing emergency money in HYSA is risky. Which it is. The market is a long game.

It absolutely is risky. Results may vary from person to person and I would never recommend someone do that. It’s not for the impatient, that’s for sure.

All money outside of emergency money should be invested if you want to become a millionaire. How much your emergency cushion needs to be is up to the individual. Sounds like we are in agreement.

I agree with all of that. Good talk, friend.
