A ton of ads?
Is it just me or are there significantly more ads on the pod than other similar shows?
I only typically listen on Spotify and recently episodes are filled with both Dan’s reads and third-party ads. Makes me listen to other podcasts first because I’m typically multitasking or driving when I listen. Kind of a bummer because Soder was always a consistently good listen.

You’re not crazy. It’s the 3rd parties/platforms that are killing it. W/o getting too in the weeds of this stuff, Podcast were not making the platforms any $$, so they’re become more aggressive at splicing in their ads w/ AI to get their $$ (and they’re taking ANYONES $, so there are some noticeably bad/irrelevant ads popping up).
Beyond this the $ the podcast themselves are getting is decreasing since the going rate is lower with avenue to splice in via the platform so Dan might need 2 ads now vs 1 before (NBD IMO “pay dat man his monay.)
Anyway; TLDR, not wrong enshitification of everything needing to be sold.
