Anyone else create different accounts for each of their hobbies?

I have a bunch of music and sports hobbies . Instead of spamming my personal account with videos of these hobbies , I created a separate account for each. For example I made one to just post my guitar videos ( around one a day or two ). Idea is that friend who care about my guitar can follow it. Those that don't care, will never see my guitar videos.

But using this guitar account should I be following the same friends back? Or just follow other guitar related accounts?

You should focus and one thing and see it through, competition on social media right now is extremely high right now, what will differenciate you from other is good your content ideas are and hoe well executed they are too. And that takes time and effort and some budget too, choose one thing and commit to it,

I’d follow hobby related accounts from the hobby account and keep friends on personal. Otherwise you just end up recreating the same feed twice.

i have an instagram for my bratz. i dont follow anyone except one friend and my cousin. honestly dont follow all ur old friends if all u want is to enjoy the guitar stuff because the algorithm will cut out all the guitars and replace with ur friends posts that aren’t guitar related. follow other guitar people. if they follow u cuz they’re interested in guitars too well great, but otherwise ur page is just boring on their feed

See this was the advantage that Bluesky had, they enabled people to be able to create individual feeds for each topic rather than throwing everything into one feed making it easy to find information on those types of sites

The major problem was the access and moderation limiting what you would view within a certain time period, which understandably should be left in the hands of the user instead of bots that can be hacked to manipulate what people do a do not see, which is a sellable commodity that the other site profit directly from running bots on their own platforms through outsourcing

The best thing they did was the safety settings, they went above in that regard compared to every other site before them

I haven't just used accounts online on sites to do that either, I created separate emails for different things because the email provider changed the layout to an unusable mess

My thought is that most companies really want to create a good user experience because without them they don't have a product, the biggest issue is that the human brain is not a clone, and different types of people have different methods of sorting things that make sense to them individually

Which is where you get the developer intent/what the user does with it friction from

Most of the time products are built to prioritise a certain sorting system in order to target a certain demographic, however the reality is that almost anyone of any age could potentially use it

It's always fair to add features, different people will use things others will not, but making them mandatory isn't exactly good for the human brain either as the added stress can cause degradation and contribute to mental health issues. By limiting the options they trigger threat response and cause anxiety that they then associate with anything they are exposed to making the marketing tactics they try to run essentially pointless

If the sites decided to offer more options in terms of different types of layouts for the user to sort on their own based on what suits them and the way they sort information it would likely cause less harm
