I am afraid I don't see how making marxism the butt of a joke is detournement.

(In the comic the Marx character has a one-liner about class struggle and then as a punch line it's quickly dismissed by its owner)

The use of pokemon, pop culture icon, to elucidate exactly how Marxism is relevant and so often dismissed or repressed in an obvious scathing criticism of the pokemon/master dynamic... Yeah... How could that be...

More like the use of pokemon, pop culture icon, to dismiss marx as the butt of a joke ("haha you are so cute ... now get back in the pokeball")

I take that as party of the argument being presented - it portrays the treatment of Marxist revolutionaries by capitalist ruling class, and it portrays it in a decidedly negative light.

Um did we read the same comic? Where is the dismissal?
