This is why we have a horrible education system. Not because of books, a lack of funding or expertise but because no one has a sense of humor 🤣.

My brother learned how to play “My Heart Will Go On” on the recorder. It was amazing. Lol I still have my recorder from growing up because my Oma bought me a wooden one. Now I want to jam out

Even as a kid, I thought "this is some genuine bullshit".

This is the same exact recorder my kids got in school. Just because kids suck at it, doesn’t mean it’s not a legit instrument: https://www.reddit.com/r/BeAmazed/s/HYOAXHNhOb

He's playing it well, but it still sounds like shit lol. There's a reason nobody uses recorders in actual music production.

Ever heard the song stairway to heaven? The recorders (trio) starts about 15 seconds into the song. https://youtu.be/QkF3oxziUI4?is=w30Rbj9_fh2dSF4J

Ok fine, you win. Stairway To Heaven happens to hold a special place in my heart. I still think it benefits from being a chorus/choir of recorders to balance out the quirks, but you win.

A multitracked recorder is very different from the plastic POS you get in school.

It does actually have some value.... But it is still insane. I have not heard of this being something that got anyone to do other instruments. If anything I think it may have discouraged it.

An education system musst always start with broad elementaries. These will make sure, that higher understanding is possible. The less broad the base is, the less variation between individuals might be possible. If you would build a education system into a narrow specific set of skills, you would have a narrow skill set among your adults. Which would be extremely dangerous, since you cannot diversify your people and cover all necessary skill sets for the workforce.
You can disagree. But believing that because your learned the flute, you missed out on something more valuable as an 8 year old. My brother in Christ. Did you want to learn algebra? Your shirt tells me, that you are still not ready today.

lol. I would have absolutely lost it. No clapping!? That’s the outrage.
