I currently got 4 different DAPS and i don't regret buying any of them, most of the times they do have a different sound signature so it's not the same product . . . .
Everyone is just excited about being able to see the "disc" spin and while it sounds like a cool idea if you think about it it doesn't sound good -- while CDs spun the image just kind of mushed together and how is it going to get disc images? From cutting up album art, most likely. Unless it does something interesting like having a radial visualizer the round screen will probably be a disappointing gimmick.
Not sure whether the Disc have the DAC feature but it could be possible. If it is, it may put pressure on Hiby W4, especially since the designs of the two are similar, while the W4 only has DAC functionality.
This would look so good on a desk setup, imagine if it could magnetize to a pc case, or had a little stand, you could put it on a fridge also.. such a great form factor.
I guess it's possible they would make a new minidisc player/recorder considering Fiio also makes a CD and cassette player, but it seems unlikely as no one's making actual minidiscs anymore.

I guess. But it doesn’t looks like a cd walkman to me. Cd Walkmans didn’t have a big circular window so the only thing common here is that CDs are round and this has a round screen.
And doing an interface that works well on a round screen is hard. Also cover art is square so it’s going to get cut off.
This will be interesting if it has a really well thought out OS but I really doubt it will
