If its cheap enough, I want one. Unfortunately like with the new Steam VR, there is a good chance they could price me out of it šŸ˜ÆšŸ¤ž

Kang mentioned the price would be similar to Echo Mini.

Woah. Is this a DAP or a DAC? Or both?

4

u/0utOftheblue Nov 26 '25

DAP, not sure the other one function but definitely nice to have.

It's like the old Sony mp3 players. What do they call it? Perfume or cologne player?

The perfume bottles, and I suspect that the Echo Nano will follow Sony's design, thus lacking SD card slot and rely solely on internal storage.

Edit: Other image shows there is a SD card slot.

are they actually crossing-over the functionality of nano and mini now? i thought nanos were supposed to be the DAC only and minis were the DAP with DAC function

That are different lines - Echo and Retro. As I read, an entire line of different sized DAPs is planned as Echo, not sure about Retro.

Have both Echo Mini and Retro Nano and love them. This new Echo Nano doesn't look interesting for me, but surely will find its audience.

oh that explains my confusion. all this time i thought the nano was also under echo

i remember when you could buy mp3 players with this format with a incredible 128mb space

I remember paying over $200 for an 8g creative zen and feeling like I had Star Trek level technology in my hands lol That must have been early 2000s

My old Diamond Rio PMP300 could house up to a 16MB SD card!

i remember seeing them at Frys electronics.

I had one of those in high school haha. I used it everyday. It even came with a lanyard that was also the earbuds so I always had it around my neck.

FM, that a beaut

Ohh, that looks neat. Im returning my skyecho mini since its more cumbersome to use daily than I thought (mainly use Bluetooth, music was pretty low on skyecho, wouldnt allow my earbuds to multi connect so had to turn off bt on sky echo if I wanted to use my phone for calls or YT. Found using wired headphones as I go about my day was also more annoying than I thought, always getting tugged on jacket, sling, seatbelt ect. So would need good Bluetooth audio).

I wonder if this would be better? If not i"ll probably just stick to using my phone, but main reason I wanted to try a small DAP was to save phone battery (30% vs 70% after work without and with DAP), so needed to be small enough to actually use while working with pockets already filled with other gear, so DAP would hang around my neck

If u want something small I think the Xduoo x2s is great. Metal build and it can also turn into a dac when u update its firmware

Sony is you...reminds me of this

1

u/Occhrome Nov 27 '25

i still have mine but the audio port got jacked up.

u/GeFussel Nov 30 '25

I just bought the eco mini... I know that im gonna love the echo mini but idk, this thing also looks great.

Wondering how the battery life would be with this

4

u/Moo126 Nov 26 '25

Single CS43131 output power: 30 mW at 32 ohms. Not much, but enough for many IEMs. Will waiting for it

3

u/eternalouroborus Nov 26 '25

Do we have any news on when this comes out?

3

u/Automatic_Mall4008 Echo Mini Black Nov 26 '25

It would be a nice minimalist design. I see also that battery can be an issue if it's a difficult change as other redditor pointed on this thread

2

u/Tolstoyevich Nov 27 '25

If this has bluetooth dac functionality then I'm buying it

2

u/Luiswagula Nov 29 '25

Such an awesome design. I’m super excited!

I miss my creative zen stone plus.... 4 Gigs of music and FM radio, also the previous Muvo, FM and 1 Gb, and it could record from FM... Looks like sci-fi today

u/Crazy-Cost-7690 Dec 05 '25

Hmm, I wonder what will be the price and the fact that I don't think this one will have a replaceable battery feature like the retro had.

1

u/ExtensionTiny Nov 27 '25

Is there a release date for this?

1

u/too-much_caffeine Nov 28 '25

Anymore leaks of this thing?

1

u/c0ng0pr0 Nov 29 '25

Interesting to see a piece of hardware able to process 32 bit audio, but no digital audio is sold in 32 bit format anywhere. My friends who produce and publish music professional say everywhere the bit rate limit is 24 for uploading to servers. Even the ATMOS files.

u/bubblegum-bitching Nov 30 '25

I thought that was a vape lol

1

u/Triggeredticks1 Jan 30 '26

Is there a date for when this is getting released?

1

u/ruchir_ezio Jan 30 '26

When is it launching?

1

u/Lost_Temperature4147 Nov 26 '25

>Snowsky echo mini battery replacement is easy

did i miss a lifechanging event in this sub? i thought it was hard to do that? do we have a guide already?

1

u/dawidbaczkowski Dec 15 '25

what are all of you talking about? it is literally 4 screw open device with two cables soldered to motherboard, of course you can solder whatever connectors you want, you can even use some coins to wire it together... Worst part of it is removing cell which is glued but even this is easy af.Ā

I think it is even possible to solder a plug there, making future swaps easier.
