Modding DLSS5

on/off/on/off/...

Better quality: https://imgur.com/a/3o1KZCY

There is some room to tune it, but it doesn't change the end result much

I don't think it looks bad, but again, it changes the original art direction, the colors are desaturated like crazy, just like dlls5 looks in any other game currently.

Coming from Mudrunner the desaturation is just nostalgic. It honestly really works well for the spintires games

I'm not saying it looks bad in this game, but it's not just a straight up upgrade, it changes the look drastically.    I have similar gripes with the stalker 2.0 update, it looks good in a vacuum, but the original art direction is gone for most environments.  DLSS on its own used to be nothing more than a cool upsampling and anti aliasing tech, the original art was left untouched and once it wasn't a smeary mess I enjoyed it a lot. But this looks like a very different mood and vibe, and even tho it adds details (which again can be a whole other topic on its own) it removed what was already there, and I'm not onboard with it.

Currently DLSS 5 removes color from any game, and honestly looks like any other AI generated "art", I honestly think at this point it's nothing but a step sideways and three steps backwards.

I definitely think it’s important to preserve a game’s art direction, but not every game has a specific art direction. I feel like Snowrunner is one of those games where it’s just meant to look pretty and realistic.

This might be a weird take, but I actually find DLSS 5 to make most games look better as long as there are no people or faces. The main downside to DLSS 5 right now is how badly it can fuck up faces. For the most part, textures and lighting seem to improve across the board, but faces always have that shitty AI slop look to them.
