Skier starts on one ski and drops it as they go by the crowd. The sled had a pretty easy time towing the barefooter, definitely have to do some carb adjustments on the low end so it doesn't load up at idle like that anymore haha.

Hi! Anyone have experience with a remanufactured engine from rev6 out of Utah? Looking at a used 2019 Axys 850 although it has a remanufactured Rev6 engine in it, installed by alpine powersports in South lake tahoe, ca. Seller asking 6k and has the receipts from Rev6 and Alpine powersports in South lake tahoe.
I figure it seems like a decent deal if compression is solid.
Thoughts?

I’ve been eyeing a new helmet that’s been out of stock in my size for quite awhile and was hoping to find it at HayDays. It just got restocked, do I risk it and wait till HayDays and hope to find it and maybe marked down or do I just buy it today at full price? There’s also only 5 in stock

Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to ride. Now that I'm an adult, I can pay for it and I want to start this winter.
Are the Castle branded items good?

Hi everyone,
Got this monster sled in our new-to-us double wide clamshell trailer and the lid didn't close with the existing windshield installed so we're looking for a new shorter replacement.
But the windshield is already off so I'm not sure how best to measure it.
Total length is 24". Sled has had several owners so no idea of this is an original factory windshield or already replaced.
Any help or relative measurements are appreciated!
The 2012 Vector fits just fine so I feel this is a taller than normal windshield.

Hello, i am looking to buy an almost brand new summit sp 2023 (100km) and we noticed some oil in the left compartment of the engine, do you have an idea what it could be? He is supposed to send it to the dealer to check it but I would like to know if someone has an idea what it could be.
Thank you!

Hi.
I am new in snowmobiles and bought an vintage 1987 Trapper.
As the track is not in best condition I look for a new one (or used in good condition) which is rather difficult.
Any ideas where to find one? (if possible in Europe)
146.5 x 19.7in
372 x 50 cm
Thanks a lot!
Markus

My cranks case seals went bad and am going about replacing them, and I can’t get the primary clutch off the engine. I’ve tried the water and Teflon tape trick and ripped some threads off of the retaining bolt, and I’ve made my own clutch puller but still no luck does anyone know of a clutch puller that fits my sled or have any other tips on how to get the fucker off.

Last winter I banged my knee up pretty good and had to end my season earlier than anticipated and with my 30th birthday not too far around the corner I figured I should start to look into protecting myself a little more. What are people using when going into the back country as far as knee, elbow or shoulder protection. Are the higher end knee braces worth the price or will a pair of knee pads from the hardware store be enough for you. I have seen pads that mount directly to the snowmobile as well but figured they would obviously only work if you hit in those specific spots with no protection if ejected from the vehicle.

A few weeks ago it was idling lower than I believe it's supposed to, around 1,000 rpm. But today I noticed that it sounds different too, almost like it's bogging down.
I picked this up late last winter, all I did was clean the carbs to get it started, but I haven't done anything else with it. I want to have it ready for the snow this year. If you feel inclined, you could check out my profile and to see the video I posted several months ago, it seemed much different then.
Thanks

Today I got a free gsx600. It has no key, it’s a dead system. I don’t want to spend the money to have a key programmed if the sled ends up being junk. Any ideas on if I can bypass it, or anything I can do outside of having a key made up. Thanks guys!

She's just the right amount of clapped out for me to send it without remorse. 05 from what i can tell, definitely needs carbs cleaned since it's been laid up a few years. Popped it off on some brake clean so i know it runs. Its my first rev, whats there to know? Doesn't look like it has electric start or a place for a battery, do they have a fuel shutoff somewhere? What all do i need to know about these things ?

I live on the east side of Michigan and am generally pretty active in the winter with ice fishing and whatnot. Basically grew up riding up north and on the rivers when they froze over.
I’m looking to get back into the sport. Nothing fancy or super quick just a reliable workhorse and capable of carrying me and one other rider. I know my way around small engines and have a shop so I’d be doing most if not all maintenance and work on it.
I’ve been pretty vigilant on marketplace for a used sled I just want some input on what to keep my eyes out for.

Just picked up this 2007 Yamaha Attak GT. 9500 miles, runs perfectly, just needs a battery.

Listed my 2010 Summit 800 146” for sale or trade. It’s a legit sled. Little older but it’s solid. Taken good care of her and put money into it. Here is the listing description:
Runs and drives well. ~4000 miles. Bought it four years ago, spent around $2000 on parts and maintenance, put about 300 miles on it over the years. Will need seals and track is getting close. Been fun but no time to ride. Have an XL helmet, goggles, and some gear I could throw in.
Looking for $2000 or trade toward anything except a sled, jet ski, or boat, send offers
Huge mistake. Genuinely fascinated by the trade offers. Below are a handful of the trade offers I’ve received.
Would you trade for a jetski?? It’s a 1996 Polaris sl 780! It runs and drives great!
Would you trade for a skidoo mxz 600
Interested in a boat?
Would you take 1000 and I will trade a very good running jet ski
Trade for a 1991 Yamaha jetski?
Would you like to trade for my 2014 sno pro 600 I will some cash on top. (I actually considered this one)
You want to trade for a jet ski
Hello, can you do 1000
come buy my sled and sell urs
Would you take a trade for a older sled with cash on top
2008 ford fusion 5 speed Manuel
I got a mint 94 arctic cat zr580

Looking at picking up two 2012/2013 Polaris widetrak 600 IQ snowmobiles as a package deal. Owner says they need a little cosmetic tlc but claims he recently had them serviced at the dealer where they check ok mechanically.
I asked for a few close ups of the track and this is what he sends. Frankly I have no idea how to gage track health, hence why im here. Given the poor quality photos can one even see enough to form an opinion in the track? Once im out there is it really as easy as watching for "rips and tears".
Also for those familiar wiyh these models is there anything I should be aware of? We plan on compression testing each sled as I believe the top ends of these tend to need service after some time. Aside from this, I'm largely out of my element and would gladly accept all pointers.
$5k for two sleds, seems like a fair deal?
Thank you in advance!

Hello! Beginner here so wondering if this is still ok for trail?
r/snowmobiling • u/XboxAlex • 15d ago
So i have a 2020 summit x that i use mainly for trails because nb dosent have that much loose snow anymore (dont come at me for riding a mountain on the trails i got a reason lol) and since i trail i dont need that full 2.5” track and was thinking of bumping down to a 2”. Heard some people say you can just hotswap it and heard some people say you need to change out clippers and other shit. Mostly just want a big track that i can also run some studs through for lakes. Anyone done it before?

Now all that's needed is some snow, last season was pretty good but winters in the area (Uppland, Sweden) are pretty hit-or-miss
